Biography
Cilla
|
Cilla is pale for a coatl, and lucky to avoid the weakness of body that often accompanies her coloration. She has a lot of sympathy for other pale coatls, and can't help but let them stay in her clan, ignoring the superstitions. She is dignified and does not raise her voice.
The matriarch of the clan, Cilla has been here for a long time. It was her decision to move the clan away from the Southern Icefield, and while it was a hugely controversial move, she is confident that it was beneficial. She's in a loving marriage with Nine, who rules with her in theory but not in practice. The both of them have a relationship with Morpha, who is only slightly younger than them, and a valuable advisor. He is one of several advisors that Cilla consults before making decisions, and while she is not beholden to them, she often takes their thoughts into careful consideration. More recently, however, she has been favoring some over others. In particular, Venia's influence- and that of her son, Hemlock- have been increasing. When Cilla announces her intention to take the clan on a pilgrimage to the Forbidden Portal, it drives a wedge through the faultlines in the clan, splitting the already fragmented group further. Distressed to think that her leadership has resulted in not one but two divisions in the clan, Cilla leans on her advisors more heavily than ever. It's a relief to her when Hemlock takes over officially, allowing Cilla to retire into obscurity. |
