Venia is one of the foremost witches of the clan. Driven by curiosity from a young age, she spends a lot of time with Baldwin. One of her objectives in the beginning was as simple as growing a garden: no easy feat in the Southern Icefield. Applying a strange combination of magic and alchemy, she was able to make plants grow. Curiously, the blooms now sprout from her very flesh as well as the gardens she meticulously tends. This strange condition is rapidly spreading throughout the clan, but it doesn't seem to be hurting anyone.

She, along with her friend and rival Bexelia, was an instrumental voice in convincing Cilla to move from the Icefields to the Starfall Isles. But as her experiements grew darker, her rivalry turned to outright emnity.

She has also dabbled in forcing dragons' patterns to shift, a set of experiments that has caused much excitement in the clan. Unfortunately, not all of her experiments have been so benign. She also spent a long while influencing Vivianne, her wife at the time, to experiment with otherworldly beings. This sequence of events cumulated in Vivianne's possession, as well as their divorce.

Her more recent relationship was not so dramatic, but lasted no longer. Her youngest son, Hemlock, shows a great deal of promise as a witch. In her excitement to teach him, Venia has all but dropped her other apprentice. The more she realizes the extent of his power, the more awe she feels. It is her honor to have hatched the beginning of a new era. This is how she comforts herself as she fades into obscurity, her achievements eclipsed by the younger alchemist Magisa.
