Morpha was in a relationship quite a long time ago, but after the death of his spouse, he slowly grew into the position of being Cilla and Nine's third wheel. He finds their relationship fulfilling enough, and is happy to help them guard their eggs. The only thing he wants for is hatchlings of his own.

To answer this desire, Cilla arranged for Evrain to join the clan, a much younger coatl. Morpha appreciates the effort Cilla went to, and wants to give the relationship a try. But his heart isn't really in it. He's aware of Evrain's increasing displeasure with their relationship, and is happy to look the other way for Evrain to date Sorrel- to a point. In addition to being Cilla's concubine, he's also one of her closest advisors.

He was one of Venia's first experiments in gene-shifting. He's more than happy with his new coloration, and sings her praises often. Even now that Venia and her son have instigated another controversial move, Morpha trusts in her intellect.
