His days were filled with studying the ways of the clan and kingdoms because from early on wished to someday lead his clan in his parents' stead. Noble, calm, and fair, he strove to be all that he had to. His twin, Elladan, was to lead the guards and oversee their armies and be the might their clan needed while he was to deal in the courts and diplomatics. It was, until his brother got killed in service of the Lightweaver. Etienne had never been the same since.

Angry, and filled with resentment over his parents' failure to keep his twin safe a deep hatred burrowed deep in his chest and festered. Neither his mother or Father knew what exactly they could do to bring their son back from his mourning. Silently, they agreed to send him away "to further his studies". Really, they hoped the space would be what he needed. It was that space that allowed him to work in secret to find ways to bring Elladan back.

For a time he raised a nest of his siblings, a gesture that was ultimately fruitless in assuaging his darker tendencies. It worked for a time, but once grown, his interest in his siblings drifted away. It was only when he found the Arcane Summoner, Aether, did he find any peace. The dragon held the ability to summon back his brother's soul, at a price, but Etienne would pay anything to have his twin back. They would never be exactly as they were, Aether warned, but they would be his brother.

These days the storm within him is calmer, and his hate has lessened. His brother is smaller, younger, and not as he was, but Etienne can feel whole again once more. Maybe now he may finally heal.
