Verbena

Daughter of Ram and Gig, and Goddaughter of Haleth, Verbena grew up knowing she was protected. With her father as the clan's unofficial spymaster, and her Godmother a seasoned warrior, the guardian decided to turn her attention instead to a crafting profession.

After all, if no one was going to be able to harm her, she might as well focus on creating something with her freedom.


In the end, after much experimenting, Verbena settled into the role of part-time jewler, tinkerer, and tailor. It was at this point in her life that she met Tarragon, an aspiring carpenter, and the two put their heads together to fashion the prototype of what would eventually become the clan kite-ship.

Over the years Tarragon and Verbena slowly shifted from compatriots, to best friends, to lovers, slowly enough that the other guardian was hardly given more than a severe look from Haleth and Ram when they made the pairing official.

More than any hatchling, the kite-ship is her baby, and Verbena can usually be found alongside her husband in the craft hall, repairing, upgrading, and inventing better ways to run it.
