History When she came of age, Borealis went to Light Academy South: primarily to get away from family strife, and secondarily because it seemed expected of her. However, zoology wasn't as interesting as she had thought it would be, and she found herself struggling in some classes. She also had trouble making friends because word of some of her family's issues followed her. She was seeking work when she found Brightleaf's flyers saying that they were in need of dragons to join their clan in certain roles. Having few connections and not wanting to go back to her parents, she decided to meet with Brightleaf. After a few discussions, she and they agreed that she would be their historian. She didn't especially know how to do it, but they liked her writing samples, and Edwin gave her some pointers.

Borealis dreams of being a novelist one day. She does a lot of reading and writing in her downtime.

Role in clan: Historian
As the clan's chronicler, it is Borealis' job to speak regularly with the "team leaders" of the clan and find out everything that they would want written down. Sometimes she also needs to speak with other clan members to get more details. Then she holes up in her room to compose the history and carefully write it in the appropriate book.

Skills and hobbies
Her pastimes tend to be escapist: reading fiction, easy art forms, sweet/fatty foods, playing with her pets, idle gossip with close friends. She also likes to take walks through the grove.
She loves birds and keeps several, her favorite being her snow streak.

Personality and quirks
She is loyal, she cares deeply about others, and her work tends to be reliable. However, she can become moody over her own mistakes, and this brings out a defeatist streak.

She dislikes eating insects, which is considered childlike among pearlcatchers. Like many urbanized dragons, she also dislikes flying for long periods of time; her wings are not very strong.

She's afraid of crowds. Her clan doesn't really count because she's familiar with most of them and they usually aren't all bunched together.

She once had a bad falling-out with Hoji, but they've made up since then.

She is in a casual book club with Yara, Osha and Zera.

Cass thinks she's pretty, but she barely knows he exists.

She gets along well with Zera and Luin because of their forms of awkwardness.

The magic of the region altered the shimmer of her pearl, and also made her wings and underbelly shimmer.
