An old legend tells the story of a black hole and a shining comet who fell deeply in love. Whenever the black hole was away from the comet his heart ached, whenever the comet caught a glance of the black hole her trail would shine brighter. They cherished their brief shared moments more than anything.
But every time they reached out for each other, the comet was swallowed by the black hole’s power and disappeared to some faraway place.
Nevertheless she would travel space - sometimes for years - to reunite with her beloved again, only for the few moments she had before she was swallowed once more. Then she would do it again. And again.

A kind goddess had witnessed the starcrossed-lovers’ futile attempts to be together and, moved by their unwavering love, took pity on them.
With a whisper and breath she transformed the black hole and the comet into dragon eggs to be hatched in the Southern Icefield and finally be able to reunite once and for all.
But the transmutation had erased the dragons’ memory and, having forgotten their common past, they grew up not searching for eachother.

And so they lived their lives as dragons, unaware of each other’s existence, but with an unshakable feeling that something was missing.

The question, who the Southern Icefield’s fastest dragon is, is one that many would give the same answer to: Pulse.
Most dragons’ speed didn’t come anywhere near the Imperial’s and it was something she took a lot of pride in.
Her velocity wasn’t the main reason for her fame, though. It was the trail of light that sparkled behind her for a brief moment whenever she travelled fast enough.

No one could explain the phenomenon but many were in awe at its sight. Their admiration flattered Pulse but it didn’t fill the hole she felt in her heart that kept her from ever being truly happy.
She raced her races and ran errands for those in need, all to distract herself from the feeling, that wouldn’t leave her alone. Then the mysterious Spiral dragon Zeehra came into her life.

First she had assumed that the unknown dragon had travelled all the way South from the Sunbeam Ruins because she was a fan of hers, but while Zeehra was impressed by the demonstration of her unusual abilities, it hadn’t been the reason for her journey.
She had sought her to tell her the legendary love story of a black hole and comet - and her role in it. The Spiral's clan's sage had seen visions and asked Zeehra to help reunite the star-crossed lovers, and that is what she had set out to do.

The words sounded absurd but familiar at the same time and, moved by the story, she decided to follow the Spiral - or rather have the Spiral follow her, as she followed her directions and dashed towards the Light realm. A bright trail moving across the continent, Pulse wondered if she would really meet the black hole dragon from the legend. And even if she wasn’t his long-sought love, she was curious to meet the creature who had allegedly been a black hole, and wish him all the best for his search - something about his story had deeply moved her.

When her eyes locked with the new yet strangely familiar eyes of an unknown dragon, she understood why. It had been her story, as well. And now it would finally get its long-awaited happy end.
She remembered how long she had waited for him. She remembered all the effort she had made for just a few minutes of happiness together. She remembered their unconditional love and now, she realized, they no longer had to fight for it.
The struggle was finally over and at last she could close their distance without fear of being sent away again.

She saw in her lover’s eyes that his thoughts were the same and, infinitely grateful that they had gone through such troubles to reunite them again, Pulse and Elipse decided to join Zeehra’s clan and spend their time at the Luminous Cave from that day on. Together.
