______ Every night, Cassandra cries herself to sleep. Every day, Cassandra is ridiculed and mocked for her “made up” prophecies. At the age of two, Cassandra was encountered by a mage, and given the gift of prophecy. However, the magical gift came with a curse. A curse that made no dragon ever believe anything Cassandra said. Many a time Cassandra has told a prophecy that nobody has ever believed.

______ Because nobody believes Cassandra, she is viewed as a liar and a fraud. Even meeting another dragon can be a humilating encounter, over time shattering Cassandra’s self-confidence into a million little shards. Luckily for Cassandra, some dragons are not affected by the curse. These limited dragons consist of her twin brother Helenus, and Agatha, a dragon who is able to “hear” a dragon’s thoughts.


______ From a young age Cassandra was abandoned. The curse had affected even her own parents, and they soon cast both Cassandra and Helenus out, not wanting to bring shame to their name. Eventually Cassandra grew to be dependent on Helenus, who took care of her when she was ill, and bring back food for the two of them. After many years of living on their own, the two were eventually taken into a clan.

______ Since then, Cassandra has tried to help the clan to the best of her ability. The curse still affects the entire clan, but she is simply ignored. Cassandra spends most of her time telling Helenus her prophecies, which he then writes town on a piece of parchment paper. Every day Helenus takes Cassandra’s strange prophecies and presents them to the clan. Sometimes, when Cassandra feels particularly lonely, sometimes after a bad encounter with another dragon, she will visit Agatha. Agatha is a sort of mother figure to Cassandra, sometimes advising her on how to deal with her problems, other times chastising her for making mistakes. Nevertheless, Cassandra respects and loves Agatha, never really wishing that she had her real mother back.
