It was fitting that the dragon they often referred to as "the oncoming storm" found herself a storm seeker to fly around with her. A more fitting companion, the entire clan couldn't have imagined. And when the wildclaw came from the Shifting Expanse, the fact that he bonded as quickly to the imperial also wasn't surprising. They made a perfect storm, terrifying the beastclans both in the Roost and the Wood alone, and together.

And together they nested, and raised more warriors, and again no one was surprised. Chaava was formidable in her own right, and Icarus had proven himself time and time again to some of the strongest fighters in the clan over time. Many more went to serve the Arcanist, and in time, the Tidelord...but they all fought.

What many had not counted on was her compassion, and her heart. For as fierce a warrior as one might imagine a valkyrie would be, she had the heart to encompass the world, and was never afraid to let that show. Hatchlings would fall asleep at her side, on her tail, under her wing. They threaded violets together and draped them around her neck one Wavecrest Saturnalia, and she wore them constantly after. As half a joke, Jacquerel and Clarigale had presented her with a soft pink rose, and much to the fashionista's mild chagrin, she'd kept it on her ever since.

It was her heart that tempered her mate's gruff attitude, and kept many of the fighters at ease outside of the battle grounds. Her all-encompassing love that brought so many new faces to Olympuswatch. And for all the young and hopeful males that found themselves circling around her, her eyes never strayed from the wildclaw she'd befriended when he first arrived at the clan. If the others hadn't known, one never would have guessed that she hadn't been a part of the clan from the start. How Mere and Stribog would have birthed an imperial child was anyone's guess, but between the Arcanist and the Tidelord, stranger things had happened.

"Does it ever make you sad?" she asked Luca one night, tight against their nest, wings spread to block the chill wind coming off the ocean.

"Hm?"

"That so many of our hatchlings have left to find the Tidelord. That our family here in Olympuswatch seems so small."

"Our family is far from small." The wildclaw turned her head to face her. "That they are not borne of our eggs does not mean that they are not family."

There was a soft silence, and then Mystral breathed out a faint laugh, nuzzling against her mate. "And they say I'm the optimist of the two of us."

"Mmm. You must be rubbing off on me."

"About time. It's taken long enough."

"Don't push your luck."
