Anoda takes after his mother (his father was a Ridgeback). Wyldyrn welcomed him to the lair because the Light Sprite, Vespertine, a large purchase for the lair, was unattached. The two of them are most active at night, when Vespertine shines brightest and Anoda can play with the lightning bugs and the pixie fairies. He enjoys them because although he is tiny, they are even more so.
Vespertine means 'active, flowering or flourishing in the evening' - his Light Sprite prefers to rest during the day and not compete with the desert sun. Anoda is fine with that and the two of them with their entourage enjoy the night shift.
Anoda likes to keep track of important bits of information for Emberglo - such as how to make tiny links to a dragon. It makes him even tinier!
