Violet
The Brilliant Alchemist

Luggage:
Contrast Aviator Satchel
Simple Iron Necklace
Uh-oh, looks like this violet alchemist wandered a little too far from her home lair (Volrin, #261879), and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but she would be very grateful!
Personality
Violet has adopted her father's love for wild and dangerous stunts and her mother's love for alchemy: the result is an incredibly reckless alchemist who performs dangerous experiments with unstable chemicals and formulas no other alchemist would dare to touch! She spends most of her time helping around the cauldron with her mother's more unstable experiments, and aids in Tango's studies to forge a recipe that could create the perfect dragon. So far they've had no luck, but they haven't lost hope yet.

Violet isn't much for travel and hates to be away from her studies for any lengthy period of time, but her husband, a Coatl named Nova, is just so passionate about seeing the world that she really doesn't have the heart to hold him back. She wouldn't admit it, but Violet actually gets very stressed and anxious when she's a considerable distance away from her home, and is incredibly distrustful of foreign dragons; she carries several small vials containing everything from healing potions to lethal chemicals in her satchel, just in case they ever find themselves in a dangerous situation.

Nova's mate, so please refrain from mating her with anyone other than Nova! I'd rather not see the two of them split up on their travels, but if it has to happen, please at least write a blurb about how they were separated. I honestly really wouldn't mind that, as long as it's a fun read.

Adventure Log

Entry #1

I say! Someone most CERTAINLY stole our journals, regardless of what my dear Nova believes! I cannot fathom how else the first page would've been torn out. My most prized recipes for potions! Gone! Luckily I had most of them memorized, but still-- the nerve!

We found them both lying in the sand of the water domain. No idea how we managed to stumble across them, but we are glad to have them back.

Entry #2

Nova is driving me nuts! He decided it was a brilliant idea to follow this bunch of wandering bards. Their music sucks, their stories are stupid, and their comedy acts are anything but funny! I haven't had so much as a second to work on my alchemy. I'm going to strangle that coatl if he does this again!

Thankfully, tonight's the last night we are following them.

Entry #3

Thank Lightweaver we aren't travel with some kind of circus, and no one has stolen our stuff this time around. I swear Nova can be a handful but I think I can forgive him for all the nonsense since he finally stopped at a pretty decent place. There wasn't an alchemist there but I did meet a potion maker who was nice enough to lend me her cauldron. I ended up working on my alchemy the whole time we were here and I'd say it was time well spent.

I wasn't too happy about leaving since I didn't know when I'd have another chance like this, but Nova was adamant that we leave for new places.

Entry #4

Oh, how glorious! This Nature flight clan, Clan Cross actually had an alchemist! I was delighted to make such a find, especially out in the middle of the woods like this!

Admittedly, Chopin is an odd wildclaw for sure. Other members of the clan tell me his.... peculiar sense of curiosity and tactless questioning is something he inherited from his parents. Still, he is willing to share his resources and cauldron so I can't judge him so much. Not while he is being so generous at least.

I can see that my mate is having the time of his life as well. High trees to give him plenty of views, performers and trinket makers that hold his attention.

At least for now, we have found a good place to rest.

Entry #5

Wonderful! Absolutely wonderful! This Ice Flight clan has an alchemist as well. Unfortunately he seems to have made himself isolated from the rest of this clan.

Gloriously the Aetherwood Garrison seems to have two alchemists, the one I was able to find let me borrow his resources and cauldron. He apologized for the fact that the main area for alchemy was locked up, and that his friend was working on some "big project".

Zunden seems like he doesn't like alchemy very much, but its probably just because he keeps trying to make thing out of incompatible resources.

I can see that my mate seems to enjoy this place here, there's plenty of performers here as well as some other obscure things. Thankfully its a nice place here, I thought it would be a lot worse.

It's a nice little stop before continuing onward.

Entry #6

Today we decided to rest our heads a little while at this quaint-looking motel that we found while traveling through the Windswept Plateau. The Mirror who greeted us at the door was a little gruff, but nice. After Nova chitchatted with him a little, we started onto our rooms.

There was a Fae who stopped me at the door and asked me if I was an alchemist. I nodded, and she introduced herself as Charoite, the alchemist of the hotel, who needed help with an experiment. Finally something exciting! I trekked downstairs to see what she was working on.

She assured me that it was safe to have an alchemy room in the bottom of a motel. I came down to an unfamiliar stench, with a simmering cauldron in the far corner. How did the motel owners deal with this?!? "I kinda screwed this up. I was wondering if you could help me," she said.

"Hmm..." I said. We conversed about what she had put in there, and it seemed to me like she was doing all right. Out of curiosity, I looked at the fire underneath the cauldron, and there was something odd about the fire. I looked underneath it, and saw that there was a shopping list underneath the cauldron.

"I think that this might be the problem," I said, holding up the list to her.

After our project, however, the Fae mostly kept to herself. Had I not been underneath the building, I would not have known that there were countless alchemy projects down there. Nova seemed to have a good time here, but it really is time for us to go.

Entry #7

When I received the invitation to visit the Alchemy Lab of the Chatura Clan of the Arcanist Flight, I thought I was being invited to learn - I never expected to have to teach. Endless, Unbegun, and The Unnamable could hardly be called Alchemists at all. Their potions certainly were unbegun, and whatever they had started had been brewing endlessly and setting up a great deal of toxic smoke, and the results were ALL unnamable.

But they were keen to learn, so I've put them to rights and got them started on some simple potions. I suppose they probably will manage to avoid poisoning their whole clan now. Hopefully...

Entry #8

Our next stop was this odd little clan ontop of a cliff filled with seemingly endless melodies and dancing. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves but all I could think about was getting to work on my potions as I watched them dance around the bonfire. That's when I spotted an alchemy station nearby and quickly headed over to it, finding a green coatl named Malachai in the process, a budding alchemist. I taught him some tricks that I knew during Nova and I's stay and he learned rather quick. After a while though, the music started to get dizzying an Nova and I both agreed to head out.

Entry #9

We ended up becoming hopelessly lost, until we were found by a guardian and fae duo. They offered for us to stay with them for a while so we could rest, and then we'd be shown the way to our next destination when we were ready. We accepted, and were lead to a clan hidden away in the Zephyr Steppes, and we've been welcomed warmly during our entire stay. One of the younger dragons welcomed us as family, and when I explained we were only here to rest, she said everyone has a story and everyone here is family no matter whether they stay or go.

Nova has been having fun flying with the hatchlings and telling them stories of our adventures, and there's plenty of things for him to do. It makes me happy to see him that way. Nova told me that he wants to stay a little longer to help the hatchlings grow and know how it feels to have someone care for them. Apparently, many of these young ones have been left by their clans. It makes me sad, but I'm glad Nova is thinking of them.

I'm enjoying myself as well. There's an alchemist here who has allowed me to join in on his experiments and listen as he teaches his apprentice, and I actually was able to learn a thing or two from him. However, he sent me away when he found out I was traveling with Nova. It wasn't until later that I found out his story, and it was one that sent chills down my spine.

How could it have been so close to mine? He traveled with his mate for years, and used most of his time to work on alchemy while his mate had fun. He lost her, and regretted not doing enough with her. He didn't want to contribute to me doing the same most likely, and I'm thankful for that. I never knew how happy I could make Nova by joining in on his flying, but he was so ecstatic that I started joining in, and I think I'll continue during our stay here.

Nova says we'll be leaving soon, as much as he hates to say it. I'm somewhat glad, the traveling air is actually starting to call to me. Nova also surprised me with a simple silver necklace, and I feel bad I don't have anything for him in return. Maybe I'll have to fix that.

Entry #10

Nova and I's next stop was to the Clan of the Brightest Ocean Shores in the Fishspine Reef. We were met by a jovial Mirror -- ironic, considering he's not been jovial since -- and a stunningly happy Coatl while they returned from gathering food. It turns out, they're fairly open to having travelling dragons entering their lair, given they have a few of their own and another traveller who I spent quite a bit of time talking to. She's looking for a sibling of hers, whilst I stay with Nova and do my best to enjoy myself whilst they're away. It's strange, being a traveling dragon with a mission in mind. It still is quite interesting, however, to hear of their travels.

It turns out that their Clan has an alchemist as well! He and I spent time giving each other various advice on how to raise our talents in alchemy to the roof, and gave me good reading whilst Nova explored. It was definitely a nice surprise, and I've enjoyed every second of reading.

Entry #11
We landed in a clan called the Forgotten Clan next. Is it really forgotten if travelers are allowed to pass through? But I digress. We were made to sign in before we could stay the night, just for their personal records I suppose.

Anyway, I met a scientist named Zira during my stay. She was wonderful, and we concocted a few potions together. I was wary as I always am, but she did seem very helpful, and she did offer me some advice on how to better manage certain chemicals when I was potion making. Nova was busy exploring again, of course.

I also met a sweet little bogsneak named Mira, who seemed very interested in becoming an alchemist herself - fantastic! I showed her a few of my own potions, and she didn't seem offended when I didn't allow her to touch them. I truly hope she becomes her clan's main alchemist! I must confess, it surprised me that they didn't. They seemed to be a larger clan, but many of the dragons appeared to fight over the same jobs... At least, that's how it felt to me.

We stayed a few nights, but then it was time to continue.
