Through Fire and Flames Quote:
Returning to the main chamber, Annelie was pleased to see Mara returning with her mate, Illarion. The crystal-white male sported dark red blood-colored stripes on his haunches and wings, which were also a deep crystal ruby red color. Mara was similarly colored, though her ice blue hide contrasted with her crimson wings in a more striking way. They were a stunning duo, and their offspring exhibited the same affinities for magic that their parents did. In fact, Annelie could see one of their offspring romping around with the other hatchlings on one side of the chamber.
As she watched, the small one leaped into the air and created a burst of ice crystals and snowflakes which gently drifted down into the mob of excited hatchlings milling below, leaping up to snatch the magic snow before it hit the ground. Annelie chuckled as she watched, excited to see what the little one would be able to do once fully grown. "Hello Annelie!" Mara waltzed over, followed by Illarion. "I'm all ready for the flight, and so is Illarion. I managed to drag him away from his rocks for the time being, though we should be quick about getting going if we want to keep him dragged away from them." She playfully nuzzled the crystal-white dragon who had noticed a black shard on the ground and was examining it closely. He smiled endearingly at his mate and the two had a moment before Annelie prompted them to pay attention. "It is a very serious matter we shall be discussing, you know." Annelie gazed at the two, and their ears perked toward her, giving the white leader their full attention. "The eggs of many nests have been stolen recently, and the clan leaders need to discuss what shall be done about the attacks. This much we know." Nodding solemnly, the two parents who had raised many children understood the significance of stealing unhatched dragons. They had the luxury of being able to raise each hatchling, but understood the pain of having that baby snatched away. Annelie's gaze softened as she saw their unspoken understanding, and moved on to her next goal. "Now, Valentine has suggested we bring Brangwen, and I believe it is a good idea. I just have to find the shadowy one." |

CHILD CHILD CHILD |
Illarion enjoys keeping small slips of paper along with magically-created pictures of his children in a diary.
Bram
Son of Illarion and Mara, Bram had a lot of expectations thrust upon him as a child. His mother was very gifted in the Arcane arts, and his father was a skilled metalforger. Together they ran much of the Academy of Magic and Metallurgists where Bram was raised. Though Bram inherited many talents from both his parents, he used his magical skills to benefit those whose presence often went unnoticed. He relished the challenge of finding individuals that didn't want to be found, and imbued the treasures that they had stolen with magical power that benefited their thieving skills. As these stolen treasures were usually very valuable, that meant they were created with fine materials. And the better the metal, the more potent the magical energy. With all the shady friends Bram made, he was careful to stick to the outskirts and not draw the wrong kind of attention to himself. He quickly became known to the thieving community as "The Artificer". Lives in GhostDanny's Lair |
Zilean
Zilean is an intensely curious dragon, able to spend hours reading, playing, battling, or listening. He loves all things ice, and has focused his magical abilities around this love. Though his father, Illarion, pushes him to work with metal more, he only studies metals because he has to. Being the most logical of his parent's first 3 children (all boys, and very rowdy), Zilean was chosen to be an ambassador for the Academy and began a long journey to the clan Virulent. Zilean refused to journey to this new clan unless he could bring his favorite books with him. He chose several, stuffed them into a pack, and ventured forth to spread the teachings of the Academy that raised him. "He had a dedication to learning like none other. Almost a desperation in truth, trying to find as much knowledge in a day as possible. It was fortunate that he was born to the Academy. He was trained as any student, at first, learning the theories of magic, learning to read and write runes. Then his training changed, as well as his three brothers. They were given private lessons by their parents, who happened to be the Under his parent's tutelage, he had limitless potential." Lives in Blackiebelle's Lair |
Riven
The kindest dragon you'll ever meet, Riven goes out of his way to do good in the world. (Owner deleted original bio before I got a chance to copy it. ;-; ) Mate to Ailis Riven is one of the kindest dragons you will ever meet, and always goes out of his way to do good in the world. One of the original founders of the Herd, Riven is always there to give advice to the current King and Queen. He constantly practices his magic, and will even put on shows for the hatchlings. He loves his own queen, Ailis, very much and can always ben found by her side. The two met at an auction for a battlescale helmet, and Riven won it for her and in turn won her heart. Riven is a very gifted mage, as he inherited it from his parents. He's always up for a good laugh, or for stories and marshmallows around the campfire. Lives in HorseSpirit's Lair. |
Rhun
Rhun diligently practiced his magic, under the guidance of his mother. He spoke eloquently, wrote with flair, and convinced everyone that he would be the inheritor of his parent's power. However, it was not to be. There was a secret that Rhun kept hidden from his family and clanmates. Rhun liked the shade. Late at night, when he was convinced everyone slept soundly, Rhun would slip out into the Ashfall Waste and chant the words that summoned the shadowy beasts. They would play together, leaping and diving and challenging each other to playful battles. Rhun didn't believe the older dragon's superstitions about the shadow beasts destroying dragonkind, to him they were his friends. In an academy of study and expectations, Rhun liked being able to play with abandon, and the shade gave him that. One day, a clan member saw Rhun slip out of the Academy. They followed him and watched him summon the shade to play with. When they raised the alarm, the whole clan was aghast that the young dragon would follow such a dark path. They worried that his actions would bring ruin to the whole clan. If he summoned shade that turned on him, and others, the clan could be wiped out. No one was willing to trust the shade, and the young dragon that was in cohorts with them, so they cast him out. Rhun wandered the Ashfall Waste for days, weeks, months, before stumbling upon a new clan, one who didn't know his shady past, one who wouldn't judge or expect greatness from him. It was a chance to start over, to begin anew. Rhun would help them with his magic skills, but every night he still longed to slip out and summon his playmates. Lives in Evermagical's Lair. |
Enya
From the moment of her hatching, Enya couldn't stop smiling. There was too much to see, too much to do! She was more bubbly and spontaneous than her brother, Rhun, and had energy to match. Her constant excitement made dragons around her happy, and she curtailed her magic abilities to match that natural ability. She would create shows and summon small fluffy animals to entertain the other hatchlings and clan members, all the while only wanting to spread happiness. Eventually, she learned that she could sway the emotions of dragons around her to feel more than just happiness. She could emit sadness, anger, panic, curiosity, all sorts of things! Enya became a master storyteller once she figured out this power, causing her audience to feel what her characters were feeling. This earned her fame and renown, and she began travelling around to new places and new audiences, seeking her fortune. Lived in Adu's Lair. |
Emilia
The Lost Child
The Lost Child
Obsessed with death and pain, Emilia was a strange hatchling. Shadowing medicine dragons, she was remembered to ask patients about the types of pain they were in. She ventured off to the Plaguelands to explore her curiosity and was never heard from again. Some say the Plaguebringer welcomed her into his army of rot and used her powers to spread decay and madness. Most try to forget she existed, with the uncomfortable presence she emitted. In any case, few dragons talked about her absence, and she generally faded away from the minds of dragons at the Academy.
Lived in DankmemeDavid's Lair.

Garou
Powerful and fierce, Garou uses his magic for battle. Using the techniques taught by his father, he forges armor imbued with magic to enhance his abilities. With the skills from his mother, he keeps attackers at bay and buffs his teammates. Garou is a warrior at heart, the pride of his parents, and the fearless leader that his battle partners need. He never took an interest in booklearning, preferring to better his body and learn things through tactile methods. He can be headstrong and straightforward to a fault, but he always fights to defend those he's loyal to. Lives in SavagePidge's Lair |
Raoden
Primary: Moon Crystal Secondary: Sanguine Facet Tertiary: Berry Runes |
As their first child to exhibit Mara's runes gene, the pair had great hopes for their hatchling. They named him after a famous character and raised him with great pride. He went off to seek new horizons. Raoden has an optimistic attitude and a strong desire to improve the lives of those around him. He is well-educated and skilled in debate and public speaking. He has a keen ability to determine how any one person can be useful in promoting the benefit of the whole. In Elantris he clearly shows his leadership abilities. He has a skillful hand and is able to proficiently learn and draw Aons. This in turn means that he is quite adept with AonDor. Raoden, character from the book Elantris, by Brandon Sanderson Lives in Krynille's Lair |
