Kimba grew up in a lovely Light clan. She was only one among many hatchlings her parents had raised, but they loved her nonetheless. Her parents reared her to be compassionate and kind, but they also made sure she knew how to stand her ground and to not be afraid to speak her mind. Along with her parents’ words and the spunky personality she had the moment she was hatched, Kimba became a strong-minded individual. During her early years Kimba was introduced to a fire dragon that was travelling through her clan’s territory; allowed to stay for a while, Kimba took a liking to the flame-red and yellow Coatl known as Armistice. The Coatl spoke of her homeland where the fires are hot and the flames bring life to new and exciting items. This caught Kimba’s attention. While she was young, the thought of travelling to the Flamecaller’s land spurred the instinctive urge for Kimba to go on The Search. Knowing that this would eventually happen, Kimba’s parents and clan saw her off with light-hearted good-byes. They knew that wherever she went would make her truly happy.
It took a few weeks before Kimba could fully tolerate the smoldering heat that is the Ashfall Waste. Armistice had a den made in The Great Furnace where she lived and where she worked on her blacksmith skills. She was well known around the lands as a top notch blacksmith, so it wasn’t uncommon for Armistice to receive random visitors on a daily basis asking about her works. Kimba was instantly enamoured with the idea of becoming a blacksmith. Armistice noticed this fascination that Kimba had and began to teach the young Guardian. Kimba picked up on the skill quickly, but it took her years to master the art; she had been so set on becoming a blacksmith that the urge to find a charge never came to her. It seemed to be suppressed. Until it finally did come.
The last few weeks with Armistice were terrible. The Coatl was dying. She had seen many, many years of life, and her age only became all the more noticeable when her brilliant fire-esque plumage began to fade. Every day Kimba watched as her mentor, her friend, dulled in color until, finally, she was completely white. Armistice’s last true sentence to her apprentice was to tell Kimba that she needed to find a young Fae that lived nearby. Kimba already somewhat knew the Fae due to him being Armistice’s young nephew, but Kimba had never truly gotten to know him. Wanting nothing more than to see out Armistice’s wish - the Coatl also wanted Kimba to gift the Fae with some unique tools that were the perfect size for a Fae - Kimba left her home once Armistice passed away. It was in that moment when a thousand emotions swirled up inside the Guardian - grief, bitterness, sorrow, but there was something much stronger than all of those emotions combined, and Kimba soon realized that it was her natural Guardian urge to find a charge. Finally, the feeling to protect something washed over her, pushing aside her sorrow for Armistice as she went on to find the Fae.
While searching for the Fae, Kimba searched and searched for what would be her charge. Nothing ever clicked for her, though. On her journey Kimba ran into a young bird made of flame, a Mock Firebird, actually. This bird was a very curious thing, following after Kimba and not leaving her alone; the Guardian found this quite annoying at first, but soon the dragoness ignored the bird. Over time Kimba found a small spot within herself to show affection toward the bird and, soon, Kimba grew closer to the bird, calling her Cinder and keeping her around with pleasure.
Luckily it didn’t take the duo too long to find the Fae. Kimba and Cinder ran to the forge, coming to a stop when they noticed the tiny dragon working in his forge. He was a friendly little thing if not a bit erratic. Galloway, the Fae, welcomed the Guardian and her familiar with open wings. Kimba and Cinder stayed for quite some time, long enough for the two dragons to grow close - closer than they had ever been before. For a while there Kimba felt her urge to find a charge dwindle; she worked with Galloway for quite a few months until the need to find her charge came back all the stronger. Galloway, growing to silently love Kimba, actually didn’t take much persuading to come along with her when she mentioned leaving. Together, they packed up their prized possessions and left the Flamecaller’s land.
Together Galloway and Kimba travelled many lands. From the Scarred Wastelands to the Viridian Labyrinth they went searching for what would become Kimba’s charge. They never once found anything. After many months of searching all the lands except one, the two dragons decided it was time to search an area in which they had sworn long ago to never go - the Southern Icefields. They identified with being fire dragons so heading into the land of ice brought shivers down their spines, but they braved it in the end and finally headed into Icewarden’s domain.
It wasn’t long until they ran into a relatively friendly clan ran by a large and wise Guardian female. Her name was Vetus; she allowed the travelling companions to stay for a while in noticing that they needed a place to stay for a few days at least. Kimba and Galloway, by this time mates, decided to stay for no longer than three days; upon waking to the second day in the Icewarden’s domain, Kimba found herself being drawn to a particular area of the clan where Liberty and Freedom shared a nest. Within the nest was a bronze-gold rock. It wasn’t much, but Kimba instantly felt the urge to protect the rock and keep it as her very own. The urge to stay with the rock was way too much for the Guardian to just ignore, and upon noticing this behavior, Liberty gave up her rock and allowed Kimba to keep it. Realizing that this rock, a random chunk of copper ore, was actually her charge, Kimba decided she would stay with Vetus’s clan to keep her charge in its natural habitat. Galloway, being considerate of his mate’s ways, agreed to stay and become permanent members of the Skylight clan. The pair soon found a way to continue their passion as blacksmiths and craft wonderful weapons and items for their surprising new home.

Kimba is a dragon made to survive tough conditions. She herself is a tough dragon, slaying over intense flames and then leaving her forge to brace the harsh cold of ice. Ever since she was hatched Kimab had been a pretty hardy and robust dragon, always surviving even the harshest of conditions. She has always been tough, the kind of dragon that would not wither away in any sort of tough situation. While being hardy and having the ability to withstand a wide range of things, Kimba is still a dragon conscious of her work. She cares deeply about her work, doing her best to make everything as perfectly as possible; in no way does she want her work to fall apart in the end or be imperfect. Kimba’s blacksmithing is her pride and it is something she wants to be perfect. Now, while Kimba is a friendly dragon toward most, she is a pretty blunt soul. This Guardian isn’t the type to just beat around the bush and not have her words understood; she tells it how it is, letting her thoughts out the moment they come to her. Nothing is typically left unsaid due to her blunt nature, and if she manages to hurt another dragon’s feelings, she truly does not mean to do so on purpose, and when in the wrong she will admit to being at fault.
