September
Teacher
As the warmth of the sun leaves my back,
and these bruise colored skies turn to black, none of these faces look the same. And not a one knows my name. Oh, I am a long way from home… It was late when the tall dragon stepped into the marketplace. His talons glowed a fiery orange and his head was cloaked. He had been here before, searching for hatchlings. Most thought the hatchlings were trained for war. But he was very selective of who he chose. Maybe he wanted to make Shadowbinder proud with only the top soldiers? Nobody quite knew. But what they did know is that he was back and in search of a new hatchling, and so the sellers praised the hatchlings they had, telling of they're great strength and Ability, but he walked most of them by. Until he spotted the small Skydancer. September was scared. She had just hatched. Her mother had left to fight. Her father could barely take care of her so she was sent to a seller, to be auctioned off. The seller of course, not seeing value in the hatchling, sent her to a deals dragon whom sold hatchlings in a small crowded marketplace. She thought she was to go to war until Singed picked her up and took her back to the clan. Why? September is one of the few leaf bringers in existence. You may think leaves are harmless but think about it, leaves swarming forward and coating you, then slowly swarming your face suffocating you. Not a nice picture. Trick or Treat:
September was excited. Her leaves swirled around her feet, and fake bandages wrapped her. Autumn, her Floracat, purred contentedly and curled on the young Skydancer's shoulders, and September carefully lifted her off. "You have to stay home!" She informed the small cat-like creature. "When I come back maybe I'll have more friends!" And after giving Autumn a small pat on the head and waving goodbye to her clan members, September set off to go Trick or Treating!
Swiftly, September approaches her next spot. The wind howls eerily and she ready's herself, hoping to get something good from this clan. Her fake bandages, and her leaves flutter in the wind and she grabs at them to keep them near her. Slowly, September approaches the entrance, and sees another dragon... "Trick or Treat!"
