____Lief is an impulsive sorcerer with a quick wit and a quicker strike, raining bolts of elementally charged water over the battlefield and healing his companions' wounds with the touch of a claw. The sickly firstborn child of slightly overprotective parents, he defied their wishes for him to have a (relatively) peaceful career as a diviner and dove into combat training as soon as he was of age. While he does have impressive prophetic ability, he restricts his divination to rituals and cards, if he does it at all; direct visions from the Tidelord Himself give him terrible migraines. ____After the Great Hurricane devastated the coastal lair of the Redrock Clan and the Tidelord outright vanished, his distraught parents—the clan founders—demanded the clan move to Shoredeep Presage to await word from the Tidelord. A vicious argument afterwards resulted in the clan being ripped in two; half left, and half stayed to rebuild their home, Tidelord be damned. Lief was in the latter group, and as the firstborn heir, his parents' rule and responsibilities by default got dumped on him, despite his protests that he never wanted to lead at all. ____Since then, he's been unsteadily directing the rebuilding efforts and general leadership, delegating as many tasks as possible to weasel out of his responsibilities. With the chances of the Tidelord—or Lief's parents—returning dwindling by the day, he knows he's going to have to step up and do his job eventually...

prophet | combat mage • does a lot of shell/tile/omen divination rather than going into divination passages • spends a lot of time in the reef lair, rarely goes up into the dry cliff tunnels where most non-water-element dragons live • he keeps trying to eat fish. fae cannot eat fish, but mere biology will not stop him. "my dad can eat fish why can't i" he says every time. • gets really bad migraines whenever he gets A Vision from tidelord directly rather than through shells or dominoes
