Biography
Name meaning: The name Queenie is an affectionate/pet use of the term queen and is thought to be derived from the Old English word "cwen," meaning "woman." As a first name, it can also mean "Royal Lady" or "Ruler."
Queenie met her mate (Sodalite) when he joined her birth clan in the Shrieking Wilds of the Viridian Labyrinth. She had just come back from a hunt when she first noticed him there. She hadn't paid him much mind in the beginning, but eventually he grew on her.
Soon after their first nest hatched, they both felt the urge to travel again. So, they left with a group of their clanmates (Sveta, Rosette, and Dusk) who were planning to find a new place to settle as well. It was here in the Zephyr Steppes that they came across a clan that was just being built and were invited to join. A Skydancer from their previous clan (Arseni) caught up with them a few weeks later with a Guardian hatchling (Floke) he was fostering and both were welcomed warmly.
Queenie will only tolerate company from the others for so long before she'll seclude herself in her lair, but she doesn't mind Sodalite's buzzing about. He is very simple with his words and she likes that. The rest of the clan members know not to disturb her when she gets like that or it'll be their heads rolling, so if they must get in touch with her, they go through Sodalite.
Queenie is quite a stubborn girl and a warrior at heart. She and Sodalite still travel a fair bit, but she likes to make sure everything is in order when she’s around because the other clan members getting out of line and stirring up trouble isn’t something she likes to tolerate, especially since the clan was founded on the basis of carving out a peaceful safe haven to live in. She prefers to handle these types of uprisings swiftly and efficiently.
Several Years Later...
An enormous leaf flowed to a stop on the shore of the Zephyr Steppes, seemingly having crossed the Sea of a Thousand Currents to get there. Caelus spotted it on one of his flyovers, swooping down to scoop it out of the way of the currents and returning it to the clan. As dragons began to approach, curious as to what resided in this giant leaf, an enormous Firebelly Weaver poked out, screeching at anyone who came too close.
A small Mirror hatchling crawled out of the leaf underneath it, trailing a silken blanket and holding a well-loved Mammertee Plushie in his mouth. Attached to the Mammertee was a carefully folded letter. Upon noticing the dragons, the Mirror dropped his toy and began glancing around, peering over the Weaver, which had moved to stand protectively in front of him. Upon catching sight of Queenie, he scooped up his plushie and began tottering forward, the Weaver following behind him. "Gwama?"
Caelus absentmindedly poked the leaf, watching the hatchling, and several parcels of food rolled onto the ground. The leaf blew away a moment later, caught by the wind now that it was empty. As the dragons began to return to the air, Robin's wyrmpeck yelled, and as she turned she caught sight of a silk-clad, purple Fae fluttering away dropping petals in their wake, followed by a green Fae that appeared to be covered in reptiles and amphibians.

Queenie stared at the child in shock. The child.... her.... grandson?!... had traveled all this way to find her? He bore a striking resemblance to her daughter RainandSnow. Come to think of it, the last time Queenie had seen her daughter, she had been about this small, hadn't she?
"You should read this." Sodalite was perched next to her with the unfolded letter in his hands.
"For me?"
He nodded. "Important." And he held it out to her.
Indeed the note did start out with the greeting "Dear Mom" and a few pleasantries about the state of the old clan, but what followed was a terribly aggressive lecture about how she had left her poor father without a word of acknowledgement all those years ago and how poorly he was doing now. The post-scripts had not been addressed to her and she most likely would not have managed to read them anyway even if they had been because the internal screeching was enough to drown them out. Probably not for the first time, her impulsiveness had come back to bite her.
When she had left to travel to the Windswept Plateau with the few others who had been leaving, she had simply packed Sodalite up in her travel bag and flown off. She had seen so many others before her leave without much ado that it hadn't even crossed her mind to say something. She had thought for sure that someone would have noticed and mentioned it... but the letter was right and she couldn't exactly deny that.
"Think about sending a letter" is what the note said... but Queenie had never been much for writing. That wasn't her style. She was too impatient for it.
Instead, she picked up Sodalite and zoomed off. "We're going home."
Then Agustina gets sent along to Haven and Rosette (and Arseni) once again takes over mostly raising the child.
But when Zuu is delivered by the Glade's entire Mirror pack and Zumurrud, Queenie suddenly found herself with Responsibility and Consequences and Expectations to live up to.
Gypsum is just like "are you cold, you look cold? do you need money? food? where did you get these scars, don't you have a healer?"
Queenie's just playing up the whole "Daaaaaaaaaad, I'm fine" thing at how excessive she feels it is when she is a Fully Grown Mirror Thank You Very Much, but considering he thought she was DEAD for so long she's not gonna push him away literally or figuratively
"the heat of my inner rage for battle keeps me warm. our treasurer says our clan funds have been doing well. I've been out hunting. hEALS ARE FOR THE WEAK."
Gypsum would just look her over and be like "If heals are for the weak do you want to go one on one against Panacea? No? THEN GET HEALED."
Queenie's just muttering about how she never said HEALING was weak, just that GETTING healed was for the weak, and he shouldn't take her so seriously, and did he really come all this way to baby her again, didn't he get his fill of it the last time they saw each other
Vela pops up like WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY U LIL SH*T
Vela's a healer and she has FEELINGS about people who think they're too tough for heals
Vela wouldn't be able to take her, but she'd be able to cause some damage
Marrow will have to be held back from joining in because HE WANT FIGHT
Gypsum watching this go down like: I'd help you but I got healed yesterday so I'm just too weak
Queenie's just "dahek is this" at Vela, but she'll humor the situation with a fight, especially because now she's got an EXCITED LITTLE SISTER WHO'S WATCHING WITH STARS IN HER EYES AND SHE'S GOT A REPUTATION TO UPHOLD XD
with an added "might I ALSO point out I never said that OTHER PEOPLE are weak for accepting healing. sheesh, why does everyone insist on reading between the lines where there's nothing to gain from it?" afterward before stalking off to patch herself up now that she's gotten some of the tension out of her system.
Sodalite was attempting to cover baby Zuu's eyes during the entire fight, but of course she was pulling his hands away so she could observe. xP
and then after Queenie goes off she drops into a pounce and immediately tries to practice the moves she saw on Sodalite
Meanwhile, Haven's healers are just like "WHY ARE YOU ALWAYS LIKE THIS WE DO NOT APPRECIATE PRACTICALLY HAVING TO PIN YOU DOWN JUST TO TREAT YOUR WOUNDS LIKE A DOG SCARED OF THE VET"
KioKyo's just like "welcome to my life" while motioning in Solat's direction because, though she does accept healing from him only, he's constantly worried about her recklessness in battle.
Gypsum would give sympathy to Haven's healers and just be like "You want me to send Pana over? Last time someone refused to be healed he trapped them in a vortex and healed them through it."
