Floke

Name meaning: In German, the name Floke means "guardian of the people."

Floke was born in the Shrieking Wilds of the Viridian Labyrinth, but he doesn't remember what his birth clan was like. After he had hatched, his birth parents left him to the care of a Skydancer (Arseni) who brought him here to the Zephyr Steppes once he was capable of traveling. This was where he first saw the Snapper dragon (Rosette) that made this new clan his home.

He hadn't fully realized it then, but this dragon that mothered him was the one he would eventually call his Charge. He knew from that moment that he would love her unconditionally and protect her at all costs. Not that Rosette really needed protection, since she is practically a tank herself. Both Arseni and Rosette found it endearing (and a little bit funny) that a hatchling tried so hard to stand guard over her. It got easier for him once he had grown, of course, and they no longer had to worry about protecting him.

It makes Floke wary whenever Rosette insists on traveling and he remains extremely nervous until she returns. Sometimes, if she is gone for too long, he will go out looking for her and, depending on how far she plans on wandering, he prefers to accompany her.
