Biography

Spinel doesn't why how he ended up with the job of looking after hatchlings while their parents are busy. Probably because he's old and has many stories to tell. Sometimes he wishes he could stop looking after children. It's not that he doesn't like his job, it just wears on him.
Spinel's cave is near the center of the lair, making it easy for parents to bring their youngest hatchlings to, and older hatchlings to make it there themselves. His room is, in fact, almost always filled with at least one hatchling.
His favorite activities include: sleeping (usually with a pile of hatchlings on top of him), sunbathing in front of the lair (usually with a group of hatchlings scurrying around him), laying in the nearby stream to cool off (usually with a bunch of hatchlings splashing around him), and going on walks (usually with a hoard of hatchlings scurrying around him). This last activity takes no less than two other dragons to coordinate, as the hatchlings like to run away or get into trouble (usually by accident, but sometimes on purpose). The two dragons that often join Spinel are Ith (who is surprisingly kind with children) and Shebracc (who is the only dragon vigilant enough to catch all the hatchlings straying too far from Spinel).
