KINARI of the CLAN VERDANT
"I am the clan healer, it's been my job as far as I can remember"

RELATIONS

YANG:Son to him and former mate Hinoki, fathered him absently.

AURORA:Daughter with Skyla, who is an artist of all sorts.

HINOKI:Former mate and childhood friend, he doesn't miss her.

HISTORY
Kinari was conceived in the Lightning Flight, only a few days after Ameyla and Jurny were born themselves. His clan was unstable, struggling with leadership. Every dragon was considering leaving, and Kinari only followed his parents advice to find another home before it got worse. Though in his time at his birth clan, he discovered a love for the medical arts, and the many ways of aiding others. Either through battle magic, stitching, necromancing, or enchanting, he was interested. This interest in healing worried his parents, who were hoping their offspring would find a life as a noble in another clan, not a dirty healer. Kinari ignored their suggestions, and when he was old enough, he left to find a home. Armed with only his novice healing skills and the determination of a lightning flight coatl, he found two mirrors, a pearlcatcher, and a batch of eggs by the Carrion Canyon.

One mirror, the smaller male, stayed by the eggs and eyed the newcomer attentively, while the larger female flew up with a roar to greet him. The remaining pearlcatcher hovered above the eggs. Kinari stopped and smiled a greeting to the approaching mirror, who quickly paced about him, growling. Kinari introduced himself, and so did the two mirrors. They were Ameyla and Jurny, new progenitors of the lightning flight, and the pearlcatcher was Scogel, who quietly announced himself to be from the Southern Icefield. They revealed to him that their eggs were about to hatch, and needed some help, for they were all weak and sick. Kinari offered to help them, and Ameyla let him stay with their makeshift pack. Scogel told him once that they were going to the nature flight, because Ameyla recently received a prophecy. Kinari wondered why they would travel so far to that wild jungle, all the tales he had heard about it were all the dragons who died or went missing.

The eggs hatched, but were lost in a skirmish with a rogue band of mirrors. Kinari was able to heal his new clanmates, but failed to help recover their lost hatchlings. They did not mourn for long, because Ameyla insisted they move on, those hatchlings would likely join that band and live with them, which might be better than death. They made it to the border of the light flight, traveled through the Hewn City, and found themselves a few more dragons on their hands. A homeless lightning refugee hatchling named Skyla joined them, along with a quiet Nimbus. A female pearlcatcher came with Nimbus from the fire flight as well, claiming to be an orphan. They finally found themselves on the coast of the light flight, and saw the great jungle in the distance. Suddenly, a green dragon flashed above the ocean, looked straight at them, and disappeared. Kinari was almost full-grown, and the skills he learned along this journey would help him for the rest of his life.

The fledgling clan arrived in the Everbloom Gardens with two more hatchling faes in tow. Faera and Verde, as they were named, were inseparable. They found a patch of forest that wasn't currently being occupied by another clan, only to find that a radical group of beast clans lived there instead. each member fought to their last, even Kinari, but in the end, they triumphed. This new clan was named Clan Verdant, for the land around them and the bright and diverse colors they all had. Kinari saw the great nature goddess once more, in a dream, she was walking back to the behemoth, satisfied with her efforts. Kinari soon found himself immersed in his work, being a new clans only healer was not easy. Though as a humble lightning dragon, this job came to him surprisingly easily. Kinari realized he was just where he was meant to be, at his leader's side, doing what he knew best.

Soon came along another coatl with colors similar to his, her name was Hinoki. Though he didn't really know who she was, she claimed to remember him from his birth clan, and left about the same time he did. She pronounced herself a healer as well, though not quite as experienced. Kinari did not know what he had just walked into. Their first nest had two twin males, who were named Yin and Yang, Yin was sent away to a wind clan, while Yang decided to stay. Hinoki tried to preen her son into being little more than a pet, controlling him, making him do what she believed was right. Kinari didn't know how to help his son, he only told him to ignore his mother, and forge his own path. Hinoki left one day when she had had enough with her clan, leaving Kinari slightly heartbroken. Though he remembered who he was, and found a new meaning of belonging with his clanmates, being a kind soul, and a humble friend.

HOME

He was born in a lightning clan with unstable leadership. Kinari doesn't know what happened to it after he left, and to be quaint he doesn't care either. His parents told him to find another clan to be like them, find a mate, have many beautiful children, but Kinari heard a different calling. If you would ask him about his birth clan, Kinari would say that he doesn't remember.

HOARD

As the clan's resident healer, Kinari obviously holds a large hoard for herbs and healing supplies, which he keeps in meticulous order within his den. Other than that, he likes to collect trinkets from the lightning flight, as mush as he says he doesn't, he misses his homeland. He often wears jewelry to prove he doesn't care what other people think.

FAMILIAR

At first he had a Bamboo Phytocat, who helped him here and there. Then an elemental familiar, an Opposing Forces, which didn't help much at all. After that he was in possession of a Living Sculpture, who saved his hide on many occasions. The familiar he has now, a Spectral Duskflapper, was stolen from his homeland and found itself, in the Gladeveins, Kinari befriended it and they became good partners.

TRAVEL

Kinari doesn't travel much, but when he does, he has a knack for buying random things he doesn't need, which in the exact reason that other dragons to it for him. The last time they turned him loose he came back with so many random trinkets he lost what he initially set out to get. Kinari still loves seeing new places, and discovering new things. He is still a lightning dragon at heart and will some day return to his homeland.
