Tarragon had always been the most creative of her siblings. Born near the rocky, mountainous slopes of Dragonhome, no one was very much interested in things that were as extravagant as art, unless it was of or for the Deity Himself, of course. But she educated herself in all forms of the subject, from painting to sewing, and finally to cooking. Culinary arts, she soon found, were her true calling.

Though her parents were not overly interested in what Tarragon did, they were not impressed either. They did not encourage her, but instead asked skeptical questions like “Will this please Earthshaker?” She paid them no mind. She had never seen the use for sacrifice nor offerings. Her art was all she needed.

As years passed, Tarragon became more and more widely known for her abilities. Requests from higher class families and far-off clans would roll in, seeking her dishes and expertise for all manner of festivals and celebrations. She became overwhelmingly busy, constantly travelling across Earth territory from village to city to kingdom. Though she so adored her calling, she knew she could not take the weight of the responsibility it put on her.

She made the decision one night in autumn after a particularly demanding Ambassador had called her all the way to Greatwyrm’s Breach for a celebration of victory. There, she had met [name] of [clan], and they had talked as she ran to and fro preparing platters and tables. As the night slowed, the dragon remained, and eventually, they asked her if she would like to come to their home, which was not far from where they were that night. Tarragon had been skeptical, often afraid of being used simply for her talents. She was easily guilted into doing most anything . But, Shayala had convinced her that it would be a visit between friends. Finally, she agreed, relief in her heart and freedom close behind.
