Pyroclast
Researcher "I guess I take after mom. No, not that mom. The other one." Pyroclast is cautious, resourceful, stubborn, and reliable, just as one would expect someone from Dragonhome to be. It makes him a good Hunter, but perhaps not the kind everyone expects when they hear that word. Pyre learned to fight with the best of them - Torch, Hodges, Sterling, his moms - and as such he knows there are many ways to win a fight against the undead. By proxy, that means there's many ways to win a fight, and Pyre knows most of them. He's a solid fighter, and he is able to and has quelled monsters from the depths of Cairnstone. But for Pyre, the thrill of the Hunt is not in bloodshed and the anguished screams of his prey. For him, it's the mystery. What made that brickwork spider come to life? What horrors caused those sigils to activate the trap that nearly cost the party their lives? Why was there a carved idol usually found in Starwood here in the Hewn City? Questions like this are what drive Pyre to keep working. He usually accompanies a team so he can cast meaning on their explorations while they keep the monsters off his back. He keeps a quiet space where he can catalogue and cross-reference his data in peace. However, his library is not nearly as extensive as that of any Light dragon's. And his collections of artifacts are not as all-encompassing as those of his mother. Instead, most of Pyre's knowledge is from experience and kept tightly in his memories. His resourcefulness and stubbornness also grant him a boon in his field. He is able to see circumstantial advantages that others may have missed. Hearing and scent are both senses he trusts implicitly, with vision only slightly behind. After all, in Cairnstone, you have to know what's coming, even if you can't see it. With others, Pyre tries to be gracious, but he often feels like their company is impinging on his work. He has been known to say a few cutting remarks to friends and cohorts, but he has also been known to issue heart-felt and sincere apologies. Mostly he associates with other Hunters, but he is always willing to share his knowledge with others who seek answers. Pyroclast has a collection of oracle bones he's found in his travels and hunts. He is fascinated by these crude divination tools, and he spends much of his 'relaxation' time studying their origins and cross-referencing the languages chiseled into their shafts.
