Biography

There is evil within every dragon. Singed found this out when he was very young. He was hatched along with three other siblings. One was shipped off at hatching, while the other two, Kindra and Groona were raised with him. This would've been okay if it weren't for Singed's parents. Both Darktoxin and Delyth saw him as a disgrace, odd looking and scary, as well as quite the rebel.

So the two older dragons picked up Kindra and Groona and left. Singed was left at the Cloudscrape crags to fend for himself. So with only a little knowledge of where they were, he left to find his supposedly crazy uncles and aunt who lived on the ice flows. It was fairly soon after he had left, that he was confronted by a hoarfrost mauler. At this moment Singed realized, only a hatchling, small and defenseless, he was going to die.

This was his thought train until a flood of shadowy wolves surrounded him. It turns out, he was a lot scarier than he thought. He found himself in complete control of these canines, in particular, a larger one who appeared to be the leader. After promptly killing the mauler, Singed found himself with both a good meal and a new power. He decided to name the lead wolf Loki, after the trickster legend.

Many months later, young Singed found himself at the ice flows, nose-to-nose with a group of three tundras that had suspiciously like himself. Their names were; Tombstone, Conjure and Soul. They looked quite odd, Conjure with a mechanical arm, Tombstone muttering to himself, and Soul holding her head in one talon. These were Singed's uncles and aunt all right.

It turns out that Singed's powers didn't come from nowhere, he inherited them. Tombstone could bring inanimate objects to life, and his brother, Conjure could raise the dead. Soul was indestructible, which explained the whole decapitation thing. Evidently, she fell apart a lot. It was with these dragons that Singed learned how to live. He learned to properly hunt, how to fly, and to control the wolves to appear whenever he needed them.

After years of being with his uncles and aunt, Singed had a feeling deep inside him. He wanted to find his siblings. Conjure willingly left with him, with Soul and Tombstone deciding to head for Wind territories. They set off on the adventure of a lifetime, and oddly enough the duo found themselves at a small clan at the edge of Plague, Water, and Shadow, calling itself Dark Clan.

Singed didn't know it then, but this place would change his life. Deciding he might make this place his home, Singed left Conjure to stay at the camp after hearing from the clan leader, Secret that dragons that looked quite like his siblings had been seen nearby in Earth territories. So Singed headed out and found the camp he had been told about, and there was not only his missing siblings but also his parents. That's when he saw the blood. His siblings, from above had looked asleep, but as he neared, their throats were undoubtedly missing and worst of all, the missing pieces were in his parent's talons.

They had killed Kindra and Groona. In a blind rage to make their disgraceful son's life as miserable as it could be, they killed their own two children. No dragon is quite sure what happened next, as Singed never talks about it, but what is known, is that the wolves were unleashed, and all hell broke loose. All that was left of Darktoxin and Delyth were a pair of huddling skeletons.

After this event, Singed returned to Dark clan to find a new member named Century. The young nocturne had fled his family after his sister's untimely death. He also had an hourglass necklace and the ability to slow down time. Singed felt an odd connection to the dragon, and they became close friends. Singed also found himself with a ridgeback named Xyla. He didn't love her much as a mate, more as a friend, but she wanted hatchlings, so he gave her her wish, though this made Century oddly flustered.

Singed's first hatching, was to Choke, Kindra, Groona, and Shiveer. When they were very young it became quite apparent to Singed that the last three were very different. Kindra and Groona happened to act just like their namesakes, and it was quite apparent, that the deities had reincarnated his beloved siblings. Shiveer, on the other hand, had the same ability as him. Fearing for the safety of the clan, he sent her to live with Tombstone and Soul. Choke headed out to explore at a young age, and is thought to have found a nice home.

Life was good for Singed, until one fateful day. Century and Vikenti, his mate decided to leave to light territories. Singed decided to go with them, which made Century happy. He didn't like Vikenti much, but it had been her choice to leave and he was forced to follow. On the journey though, the first tragedy struck. Vikenti found herself struck down and killed by harpies. Though neither male liked her much, they were still devastated. Singed offered Century to come back to the clan and he agreed, but it was on the journey back that the moment that changed Singed's life once more took place.

A battle was happening. Thousands of dragons stood on the Light and Shadow border fighting an Emperor. The two friends had to help. They felt obligated with powers such as their own. And so they fought until the midst of the battle Century stopped. His hourglass necklace was almost drained o the opposite side, which seemed odd to Singed, as it rarely moved. "Clear the area Singed." He told his friend. "But we've almost won-" "Now. I know what I must do." Singed was startled, but he yelled for a retreat, and his friend had a plan. And as the battlefield cleared, Century made his last stand, slowing down time as he flew straight at the Emperor.

There was a flash of light and the Emperor disintegrated. But as it did, Century dropped from the sky, rocketing towards the earth. Singed raced forward, in an attempt to catch his friend, but he was much too far away and found Century, barely alive and crippled in a crater, his necklace cracked.

My time is up." *I picked the smaller dragon up* "No. I can refill the Hourglass, fix the cracks..." "Do you know why I was so jealous of Xyla?" "Jealous? I never thought..." *I realized now how much I actually cared for Century. That maybe he was more than just a friend. "I loved you. I did from the day I met you..." *He broke into a horrible coughing fit* "Why didn't you tell me?" "I didn't think you felt the same..." *By now I was in tears* "I didn't know I did either... Until now." "Singed I'll come back. I always do. I'm reincarnated. The deities told me. But promise me something for when I'm gone. "Anything..." "Make sure... They remember me..." *He pressed his nose to mine as the last sands seeped from the Hourglass and he was gone* "I will. Everyone will. They will remember you for Centuries."

Singed was never truly the same. Xyla tried to help him, but he turned her away. For a long time nobody could talk to him. Somewhere along the line Xyla died of sickness. Singed barely remembers the funeral. He was just flooded with more grief. He had told Century's story to so many hatchlings that he was sure everyone in Sornieth knew it, but he never stopped. Eventually his children brought him back to the world, and he found himself in a changed clan, led by three different dragons.

Singed began to leave the clan as a rescuer. The travels cleared his mind and he always felt better when rescuing and helping hatchlings with powers who were mistreated much like himself. He even continued having children thanks to a clone dragon made without much mind named Clione who basically just harbored children.

Singed now spends is days helping save more mistreated hatchlings, and hanging out with his family. He also deals with his annoying adopted-nephew Evenus pretty often. Singed currently lives in the Central cave with Kindra, Groona and her mate Marron in a shared cave system. He is often seen talking to himself, asking someone invisible when they're going to finally come home, but nobody knows if he ever gets an answer.
