Tasuil || The Red Mage |

F L I G H T N O T E S - forever mateless original profile code and lore by spiderbakesale |
mage || scroll master || pickpocket
Looking at him, one might expect a host of nefarious magics used in the most terrible of ways. The truth isn't so far from it, except that he doesn't like to cause harm unless entirely necessary. As for his magical abilities - they leave much to be desired. The truth of the matter is that Tasuil is only an apprentice mage, having been exiled from his tutor's clan under incredibly crisp circumstances. During a battle, Tasuil's mentor was killed and the young coatl was at fault, leaving him as an outcast in his tutor's clan. When the Coven convened, they determined that Tasuil would be exiled and never allowed to practice magic again, much less become anything more than a disgraced apprentice to lay shame on his family. With no intentions of being the disgraced eldest son of his parents, he fled north to the Gladeveins and was found by the Entfuhren troupe who he promptly impressed with parlor tricks. Though he didn't personally tell the lie, he didn't tell the truth either and they took him in thinking he was an expert spell-caster. While traveling with them, he toyed with the idea of disguising himself and returning to his tutor's clan in order to receive full certification as a battle mage. Unfortunately his skills are not fully trained and any attempt at deception would be seen through immediately. When the guardian Valentino came to him for a magical cure-all, Tasuil had to go through many scrolls and notes in order to come to some kind of resolution. He came upon a scroll that would change the breed of a dragon and thought it would be a perfect solution, and it was - except that the magic will wear off if it isn't renewed because Tasuil isn't strong enough to keep the change permanent. This means he and Valentino, now a spiral, are frequently in communication as Tasuil tries to find a permanent solution. He often asks for the help of Tak, a fellow mage who passed her certification under the council. She knows nothing of Tasuil's deceptions, for if she did she might out him to a local mage council. Many dragons find him strange and uncomfortable to be around since his magical aura is constantly pouring off his feathers. Still, he tries to be friendly with those around him and in turn they try to be friendly with him. There is much this Coatl could be, but warm and welcoming is not one of them. He is much like other ice dragons, although he makes an effort to be understanding of those around him. Still there is much to be desired in his bedside manner. He is cold and distant, calculating to a fault and incredibly severe when his directions are not followed to his specifications. Much of his irritation is aimed at himself for having failed his mentor, which he still has not allowed himself to forget. He acts under the big top before the really good stuff, showing off his flashy ice magic and mixing it with nature magic he's learned since coming to the troupe. Sometimes, he will perform breed and gene changes before crowds. Often he simply does what he is told, getting more than a few gasps from the crowd before disappearing behind the flaps of the tent. When outside, he doubles as a pickpocket and will perform parlor slight of hand tricks to gain access to outsider's purses. |
