This dragon's full name is actually Antigorite Serpentine, but she commonly goes by the second of her names, feeling that Antigorite is overly formal. Serpentine describes a subgroup of minerals, whose olive green colour and often mottled or scaly appearance is the basis of the name from the Latin serpentinus, meaning "serpent rock". The more attractive and durable varieties (all of antigorite) are termed "noble" or "precious" serpentine and are used extensively as gems and in ornamental carvings.

Serpentine has begun to apprentice under her great Grandame Maleficent, showing a particular talent in brewing potions and elixirs. During the Riot of Rot festival of 2016, some strange changes crept into her features; but the alarm in the lair was considerably less than one might expect, especially considering the notorious recent discovery of the Bogsneak metamorphogen. Her natural colouring and daily occupation masked the peculiar, oily fumes that now seeped from her scales, and the second, emergent eye is masked by the headdress she wears. Recently, dragons have wondered about the chilling howls which echo from the depths of the alchemy lab; but it is generally assumed (wrongly) they are from Neroon's Wraith Hound. Her latest not-so-secret alchemical experiments involve a form of parasitic fungus that holds interesting possibilities for mind control...
