Born among the flustering winds of the Twisting Crescendo, Meissa learned to fly earlier than those in the Steppes or Ascent. Her parents, both wildclaws, served their clan well with only a few scruffles here or there but taught their daughter to value life by what she could gather. In time, she grew restless of the endless storms however and sought to find another home, one much grander than the one she was leaving. Her searches lead her to the cloudsong where a troupe of players lay, and though she was wary, she accepted an invitation to stay. Little known is what happened upon her agreement to stay.
Some say a curse fell upon her and changed her into a tundra, some say she chose the form out of love for a young one named Polaris. None know the truth and that is how it will remain. Though the change was strange and took a long amount of time to truly set in with the consquences, Meissa found the life of a tundra to be far more suited to her needs. It was upon becoming a tundra that she could hear the Star Song clearly, a sweet twinkling melody that had eluded her mainly in her former life. The songs that sparkled lovingly towards her and whispered meditations within her ears. Like many of the subspecies she became a part of, Meissa has carved out sections of her horns into intricate patterns. It's said that they can feel the wind's shifting through these sections and often she can be found meditating. Though her chosen spot is upon the Cloudsong kite that the troupe has painstakingly moved with them, Meissa is a member of the Òrdugh Rionnag. This swiftly growing faction in the clan offers a home to those who can hear the whispering of the stars. Among the population, she is one of the few who can truly hear and meditate up on the stars and often writes out prophecies when they come. Though many are wary of her wolf cape and stark - if slightly morbid- coloring, Meissa pays little heed instead chosing to remain close to her star-watching lover Polaris. From the Headcanon the Dragon Above you thread: ""The Shining One."" Dragons who are familiar with the meaning of the name but are strangers to Meissa herself wonder how the unsettling dragon (with her winter-wolf cape and vaguely morbid coloration) acquired such a name. These individuals are not worth Meissa's consideration if she even notices them in the first place. Her affinity for the stars is such that she can feel herself burning, resplendent. The enormity of the cosmos is almost overwhelming. She cannot help but express a sort of nervousness whenever she is abruptly forced to part from her meditations. - Katabasis
