Baron Calisson is the youngest son of a couple from a very old family in the Court. As the youngest son he was able to pursue his passions and ignore any of the demands laid on his older siblings. Instead of joining the military or pursuing some sort of typical higher education, he decided to go into music. While a proficient player, he was never exceptional. His focus quickly moved on to composition. He felt more fulfilled calling on the voices of an entire orchestra than simply playing one. He rarely acts as the conductor when his work is being performed, preferring not to be in the spotlight. He prefers to place people he feels are more deserving of attention in it instead. He keeps a "day job" as a composition teacher at the Conservatory associated with the college. He also rearranges existing work for different instruments. It was at the Conservatory that he came into contact with Georgette. While older than she is, he felt very drawn to her. He was very impressed with her abilities and decided that she needed time in the spotlight. Her first appearance in the Court was at his behest, when she performed one of his newer works. He watched her from the sidelines for quite some time before realizing that he felt irritated every time a suitor approached her. He tried to pass it off as being annoyed with the low quality of those approaching her, but he finally in the midst of composing a beautiful piece of work for her to play, he had to admit that he wanted to approach her himself. He decided to discuss it with her parents first, only to find that Lady Sterling was delighted due to his title. He reminded her that he had little holding since he was the youngest, but she was thrilled nonetheless. He never brought up his influence over her rise to popularity, but Georgette is aware. However, she respects his desire to keep it private. Their passion for music quickly united their hearts, leading to a marriage with considerable fanfare. Georgette's other suitors were all heartbroken, but the music lovers of the Court rejoiced. |
