Blithe

The unofficial head of Starbound and book enthusiast, Blithe. She's outgoing and never still, always trying to do more and never asking for help. Delegation is still a word she needs to learn, despite being in charge for some time now.

As the only extrovert in the family, Blithe was the driving force that caused Starbound to rise to the heights it once did. She misses the hustle and bustle of so many dragons (and never admits she's only become busier since then). She loves and cherishes her clanmates, and does everything she can to help them.

Not long after the clan made the move to Focal Point, Blithe chose to use a breed-change scroll and has never regretted it. Sure, she misses the fur and olfactory abilities, but it was worth it for the improved memory and empathic ability.

Blithe holds a fondness for poetry and journaling, though she no longer holds the time for it like she did in her youth. Now her days are full of papers to fill out and errands to run, among the many other odds and ends.

Once she had someone she thought could be her mate, it ended in regret and guilt. Once she had a mate and child, one who disappeared with the other. Love hasn't treated her kindly, and she's not looking to make the same mistake thrice. She's content with her family and her clan - love is a waste of time anyway.

While her relationship with her parents was always easy and light, ever since the mass exodus of residents, her relationship with her brother, Alastair, has soured. He's stressed, overworked, and overwhelmed - but that's no excuse for the manipulation. He demands, explains, pleads for her to do what he says. He's always belittling the way she does things, always telling her it's too much and she's going to hurt herself.

He says he cares, that he just wants her to take care of herself. She tells him she cares too much about the clan to ever quit on it like that.

(There are bags under her eyes, and sometimes just a light conversation feels like claws through the brain. She can feel others’ emotions now; maybe it's drowning out how truly worn and listless she is).

Never ever takes a personal day. She tried it once and then everything happened. Starbound would fall apart without her (only because she's made it that way).
In her room she has a bookcase full of journals from her Tundra days. Each holds memories of dragons, ideas, and events long forgotten.
Mid-thirties.
Has an older brother, Leaf, who died in service to the Arcanist. She tries her best to think of him, or anything else that'd slow her down with melancholic thoughts, as little as possible. She calls it optimism, only looking on the bright side. But it's really just avoidance, a refusal to accept and move on.
Is too busy taking care of everyone to form a deep bond with anyone and thus, doesn't have close friends. She cares so much about everyone and tries to do so much for everyone that it often backfires, and looks like the opposite: she doesn't listen to you, too many thoughts running through her weary head, trying to find a way to align clanmates' needs in a way she can help multiple at once; she doesn't make time for you, always running about and excusing herself when you do managed to find her for a minute, trying to get everything she needs to do for her clan done; she doesn't care about you, she looks right through you with glazed eyes when you greet her and doesn't answer, never asks to hang out or grab a meal, she's too busy and exhausted from trying so hard to make everyone happy that she has no time for herself.
