Four Dragons. One Bloodline.
May our Goddess turn Her Eyes towards your destiny.

There are four siblings in this world, all born together. The first runs and never wearies. The second eats and is never full. The third drinks and is always thirsty. The fourth sings a song forever.

Finding the dragons~

(Link) Basic rules:
A death in the coliseum = that dragon must be exalted. This is the most essential rule of a nuzlocke.

All loot obtained in the coliseum is irrelevant, as is the loot obtained from gathering.

There are no restrictions about applying apparel to your dragons. Do whatever makes sense to you. Same goes for familiars.

Ping or message me if you take the challenge ;p (you don't actually /have/ to but I'd love to see how it goes!)

And, most crucially, all nuzlocke activity corresponds with the loot you obtain daily from Pinkerton's plundered pile!
Drops of Fate:
============
Food
Coliseum time!

Plants:
10-20 matches

Insects:
20-30 matches

Seafood:
30-40 matches

Meat:
40-50 matches
Choose from one of these two rules:

Hardmode: You must select coliseum challengers in your lair using a random number generator. Then, select the coliseum arena that corresponds to the highest level dragon of that group (For a 'medium' mode, select the venue that is one tier down from that of highest level dragon). If your dragons level up while in an area, you can still stay there for the whole day. You can quit your battle streak at any time to regen health, and flee from battles if it is appropriate. Don't try do 50 matches in a row unless you want a wiped-out dragon!

OR

Easymode: Choose whichever team and venue you want and go for it. Running from battles, using health pots, and ending the battle streak is fine, as I explained above.

(These ranges can also be altered to suit your level of activity/personal preference.)

Materials and trinkets: Flex your creative muscles!

Note that there is currently a glitch in which Pinkerton mislabels materials as trinkets. If you obtain a "trinket" from Pinkerton, double check to make sure its not actually a material!

Materials: Do some writing for your nuzlocke. How does your new nuzlocke clan change and develop? What are your dragons like personality-wise? How do they get along? How do they die? Is there an antagonist in this nuzlocke, or are they merely struggling against the forces of nature? Write dragon bios! Make a blog, or a thread for your challenge in the creative forums! Write short stories or paragraphs, or add to one big one adventure!

Trinkets: Do some art for your nuzlocke! Digital or traditional, use whatever medium feels best for you. Draw deaths. Draw dragons. Draw humanized versions of your dragons (if that's your sort of thing). Draw familiars and dragons together. It doesn't have to be that good or elaborate. If you make a nuzlocke thread, post your art there.

Obviously, you might not have time in your day to do something creative. If that's the case, don't worry about it. This challenge is meant to be fun and heartwrenching, not a chore.

Familiars: Buy the cheapest dragon in the auction house of a specific breed. Use a random number generator (between 1-13) to determine which breed you will get! (Optionally: attach the familiar to the new dragon.)

Apparel: Breed two of your dragons. The dragons you pick are up to you. You can also change one of the genes on a dragon, or use a scatterscroll if you are rich and crazy.

Note: You must flip a coin for each hatchling once they hatch. If tails, the dragon is dead and you must exalt it. This is in keeping with the origional Nuzlocke thread's rule, because I really like it.

Battle Items: Uh-oh!!!
Flip a coin.
Heads = DEATH STREAK | Tails = Nothing happens

DEATH STREAK rules: Randomly select three dragons using a random number generator. Fight in the coliseum using the "food" rules 10 rounds consecutively (ie. you cannot leave that arena), quitting midway if a dragon dies. If you are using the easymode rules, switch to the hardmode rules for battlestones.

(Note that the 'death streak' needs to be tested for deadliness. It should be pretty deadly, but not totally impossible.) After testing, it seemed to work as intended! Survival depends on your willingness to be both lucky and cautious.

The roll of the die decides your dragons’ fate. Thus, you must assign numbers different meanings. You may do this however you like, with Hardcore Mode having increased death and challenge numbers, while an easier, lighthearted story rolls more story/relationship building ones.
The assignments are as follows: Worldbuilding, Character Building, Challenge (Non-lethal), Challenge (Fatal), or New Encounter. If you wish to start out simply, without the struggle of assigning your own numbers, you may use the list on the left:
~
Challenges are, by far the most integral part of a Lorelocke, and, indeed any Locke that has ever existed. Without challenges, a story would not exist, and without a story, you have no hope of maintaining a Lorelocke.

To decide what will happen, we will turn to the three (3) main types of conflicts; Man vs. Man, Man vs. Nature, and Man vs. Self.
We will also be relying on the d8 to decide this roll.

In order to decide the nature of a certain conflict, one must roll a d8. Of course, if the current situation your dragons are in does not allow a certain type of conflict, you may change it as you see fit.
Below are the assignments to each number -->

This will decide whether a dragon is challenged by nature, an opposing force, or some version of themselves. Beyond this, you can be as creative as you like!

If the roll landed on Fatal, assign each of your dragons a number and roll for which one will die!

4. Self

Worldbuilding is definitely one to consider, where you establish the realm your dragons are in. As Sornieth as quite well-developed lore, these episodes depend entirely on your creativity, and how well you can make this world unique and yet still align with Canon lore.
Or not, if you prefer! It’s your story, after all.
Next is Character Building, which, like challenges, can vary depending on the number you roll! There’s a lot of variety in Character building, of course. Character building is, naturally, one of the most important things in a story. For episodes like these, you have to roll two dice, actually! The first is a d4, with (of course), four sides. -->

This decides whether your episode of ‘character building’ focuses on improving a relationship or destroying one. After all, life can go both ways, can’t it?

After this, you roll another d8! This decides whether the characters you choose to engage with during this episode (which you can choose depending on what number you roll) will progress or degrade in a matter of a platonic or romantic relationship. In terms of larger groups, you can step this one out because it’s kind of hard to form relationships with entire groups of characters at a time. Again, this is your story, so modify my rules as much as you’d like to!

The Lonely Tower. The Forgotten Spire. It had taken many names, served many masters, and lasted through many sieges that decorated its walls with far more history than one could dare inscribe in tomes and scrolls. Perhaps that was why the dragon, Yminthe, had chosen the world it offered once she stepped through the Mirror’s edges. It was a far wilder Sornieth, and the powers and energies that flowed through both sky and earth were more primal and unfettered, suited to the new being she now came to be. The Mirrorworld proved to be more fruitful; as the dragon descended finally on the last step out of the tower, she knew she would stay. Her charge was here, after many years of searching— and so stay she did.

Years went by until she no longer felt the passing of time. She dealt with leviathans and serpents, soulslashers and dreamweavers, just to make sure that her growing clan would host a greater purpose than she had in her first life. And like the moon casting her pale glow across the earth, the Witch and the Hunter came.

The tower, lonesome like a rusting needle, was alight with a strange blue glow that night, as if to herald their coming. Runes played and bounced across the tower's dilapidated bricks, and voices muttering in an ancient language echoed only one thing over and over: Welcome, daughter. Welcome, heiress.

Yminthe would not see the tower glow as bright as a star like that night again, even as Greteel's bloodline slowly branched out and ventured beyond the Clan's reaches. The tower itself, though slowly crumbling away, seemed that it was no longer letting any dragon in, or for that matter, out. It was weathering away, yet inaccessible-- and she liked it that way, enough to never ask the Witch where she had come from, or what she was running from.

That peace, however, was short-lived.

Though two sea serpents were left to care for the Clan while Yminthe retired to the deep Crystal Caves, she sensed tension from the earth above the glittering stalactites. The other dragons sensed it too: it was as if each had stepped into a puddle with a livewire in it. She looked up from her resting place, and where the shadows were the thickest, a soft blue mist was slowly curling open its opaque tendrils. Little by little, until her image shivered into reality, Yminthe found the Witch's gaze on her. She inclined her head, and the other bowed in mutual respect. They basked in silence for a few moments longer, one hesitating as if her query would shake the foundations of the clan that sheltered them, the other dreading the question of an almost impossible task.

It was the Witch who spoke first. "My blood calls to others," Greteel said slowly.

Yminthe closed her eyes. In her mind's eye, she was remembering how the Witch had grown up to be as formidable as her predecessors. "When has it started?"

"It started when the night and day became equal, and I started seeing them in my dreams. The tower is a beacon. And it is time for me to answer them," she answered, her red fireflies flitting around her body erratically, betraying her calm composure.

The older dragon finally shook herself off of her crystallized nest. "Then we shall host them, Blednaya Lyubovnitsa."

Greteel's wings fluttered in relief. "Thank you, clan mother," she said, bowing again.

Yminthe's eyes softened, and she gently tapped her horn against the skydancer's brow. "Krihione."

The Witch looked up at the clan mother incredulously. Yminthe nodded once. "It was never written, but the day you arrived to me, the tower gave up its name. Its primeval name. And it is Krihione, and it is what you say: Bloodsinger."

The dragons participating must have the same Primary and Secondary color schemes as the Witchborne Founders, but with a different gene or breed that has never been seen before in the lineage.
*Bonus! One competitor with a primary color outside, but near, the WB primary colors shall be allowed to join.

The Tower is only allowing dragons who bear the eyes of Imber (Water), Ustrina (Fire), Solum (Earth), and Spiritus (Wind), with only one representative of each eye. They could only be named when they reach level 7. Before then, they will be carrying epithets of their own.
*Bonus! An exception could be made for a dragon with special eyes (Glowing, multi-gaze, primal, etc.).

The dragon who reaches level 15 first shall be made consort to one of the Witchborne Founders. That dragon will also be granted a Witchborne Symbol of Victory that their descendants can carry, and their particular gene be added to the official WB requirements, whether it be a primary, secondary, or tertiary gene. If they are a different breed from the four founders’, only their descendants are allowed and will be recognized as official Witchborne, not Witchkin.

The other dragons who did not make it shall either be put in the Mirror (Hibernation) or be brought to the altar and sacrificed to the Goddess if they don't decide to go further than the Aetheatra Clan's reaches (AH or Adoption).

Ancients are not allowed.

All Nuzlocke activity corresponds with the loot the gladiators obtain daily from Pinkerton's plundered pile.
Food - Coliseum Time/Battle Chronicle
Materials - 3rd POV against 1
Trinkets - 1st POV against All
Familiars - Acquire help from a Witchborne
Battle Items - Equip and Death Streak
Apparel - Exempted (Roll D4)

There shall be no exaltations until a victor is crowned. That way, we ensure that each gladiator/gladiatrix have all the chances to be the victor. Or not.
*Note: I actually plan on using every dragon I carefully select from the AH or adoption threads, just to have the chance to expand the bloodline to different genes and breeds.

Throughout your training, you will encounter the Witchbornes residing within the Aetheatra Clan. After picking an item from Pinkerton's pile and accomplishing its requirements, roll a D6 to choose which competitor's POV will take over that day. After choosing, roll a D10 and write about your encounters either with a friend, a potential enemy, mayhaps a lover, or even a teacher.

Dice rolls 1-8 have an exact Witchborne Encounter.

Rolling 9-10 is a 'Roll Again’. If you land on another 9-10 for the second time, you must write through the POV of a Witchborne instead.

After you've rolled on an encounter with dice rolls 1-4, roll a D6 to choose what happens next. If you landed on a dice roll 5-8, use a D20 and write only about a challenge chosen from the Challenge list with an encounter with these other Witchbornes.
