GIRASOL - the survivor

History/Personality Traits Gira was found as an egg in the clan territory and was intended to be sold but ended up mysteriously hatching before she could make it to the auction house. She was deemed a resident of the Love Club and named by Aja the clan leader, but Girasol wasn't raised by any dragon in particular, and as a matter of fact, Aja has always been estranged from her. Since her name means "fire opal", it's rumored by some of the older dragons in the clan that Aja felt inclined to keep Girasol around because she reminded her of the clan's founder and likely-deceased progenitor, Opal. Aja has yet to confirm these rumors, but it seems too likely to not be true. Even though the guardian has no true parental figure, she became very close to another "parent-less" hatchling, Asami, as a child. The slightly older spiral always acted as an older sister and even a mentor of sorts, which might have seemed strange considering that Asami is much smaller than Girasol. This aside, Gira and Asami have always been compatible and the young guardian even adapted some of the spiral's energetic traits. Growing up a lone guardian, the pressure to find a charge by peers as Gira gets older is stressful on her. Gira is a bit of an airhead and is easily scared, and insists that she is more likely needing protection from someone, as opposed to her protecting someone else. The young dragon's combat skills are nothing impressive if not close to disappointing, she's quite frail and has no desire to learn magic and would much rather flight than fight. Her skills are improving as she becomes older and faces more dire situations, however, and isn't reluctant to learning how to protect herself although fear may be a wall she needs to break down before she can truly learn how to defend herself. Despite her general lack of strength, Gira is witty and creative, although this can sometimes get her into trouble, given her sharp tongue tends to make up for the sharpness her claws lack. Gira is a great friend to those who do come close to her. She's an all around people-pleaser, and often goes out of her way to make others happy even if it means putting her own needs aside. The young dragon is also very lively despite her anxiety. as well as having a love for humor and games. Girasol is an extrovert and one of her biggest fears (among many) is being left alone or isolated, most likely because she doesn't believe she's capable of taking care of herself. Although sensitive, she isn't someone who gives up easily and will tend to her goals even if it means facing her fears. The guardian possesses a very childlike naivety and innocence which is balanced in some respects by her intelligence, although Girasol still deals with small issues related to this feat such as making impulsive decisions and procrastinating. |
