No one is really sure why they are here, but it is well known they cannot leave because of the chains that bind their legs and paws to a room in the darkest pits of the lair. Their aim...there is none to be found. It's the joy of the chaos that fuels them.
Nari, despite knowing this, hopes that one day they will be cured and tries to reason with them. This has little success as all the matriarch receives to her kind words is the Quipsters harsh words that slice into any soul without much care for the victim. Once, they had been a brilliant mage in service to the clan. Their magic was powerful and unparalleled, and their knife work excellent, specialising in illusion magic to hide the clan and the ship. But time and life slowly drove them mad to the point that they became a threat to themselves and others. Their love of chaos and killing showed in the most creative of ways, as Quip loves to play jokes but doesn't like to make them funny for anyone else. What they find funny is heartbreak, loss and corruption- while they dance and sing merrily to the sounds of suffering. Not all their jokes are so obvious; some brew over time as they slip poisonous words into the ears of others when they pass them by. It's through this their intelligence shows, able to calculate moves long into the future and predicting precisely what other dragons will do. They find others boring, predictable and ordinary. Life to them is a chess game, and they're determined to win. They were only outmanoeuvred and chained after a great deal of effort. When the crimes became bloody and unforgivable, it was clear something had to be done and so Quipster was brought cackling to Nari. With not the heart to execute them, Nari left Quip to fester in the dungeons with only a fraction of the power she once possessed. Quip bides their time though. All it takes is one slip up. One, and they've got you. The only one they seem to have any love for is their brother Tricky - who they've vowed to protect with everything they have. Although Tricky scorns his siblings’ stupid plans a lot of the time, he loves them dearly and will often sit with Quipster when he's not fixing the electronics of the lair. Perhaps even the evil can have one spark of light. Fortune given by Cidae Quipster Ace of Clubs with the heart of night, your bonds will break when you grow contrite. You do not yet understand your place, and crimes of the past you cannot erase, But rejoin the clan to see your path, as your enemies quake in fear of your wrath
