Zana
The Silent
A faerie gliding through the glade
Found the Clarus Clan on June 6, 2015
A lovely, quiet spirit who enjoys the company of others but only in their own mute way. They often go out on their own and, completely hidden in the foliage of the forest, watch those in the forest - whether they are Clan members, Flight members, or foreigners in the Viridian Labyrinth, Zana is watching. They are the unseen gaze following you through the forest. Zana sometimes follows 'Kana on his scouting trips, and may even make themself known to him, but usually joins him unseen from a distance. When Zana shows themself to outsiders, it is a blessing, for without speaking Zana can bless the visitor to the Labyrinth with great gifts such as the arts, good luck and safe travels. Zana enjoys creating different herbal mixtures and compounds for the Clarus Clan's special teas, a portion of which goes to Surasa's tea shop in the Monsters Grove. Tucker then trades the rest of these teas to visitors and neighbouring Clans for profit. They shares this skill with Cascade, who observes quietly without disturbing Zana. Cascade offers his own herbal mixtures that he picked up on his earlier travels, and Zana appreciates his work. When not ghosting the forest or creating teas, they glide with the Clan in companionable silence or hang from the branches of the willow tree while listening to the rest chatter. |

The Clan seeks Zana out when in need of someone who will listen to them rant, but unlike Atheria, Zana will act in defense of another if they overhear or oversee another taking advantage of the first. This has in the past ended in injured dragons limping to the healer Khseraf, and after Khseraf's passing, Marcel, because the fairy Nocturne has found justice on behalf of another - even when Zana was explicitly told not to attack. In any case, Zana will never fatally harm any in the Clan as that decision is, of course, up to Sonata - but any attacker in the forest is not treated as kindly by the silent Zana. |
