As I lie awake and curse the rising sun" Easily the most aggressive imperial within the clan, until recently Flamewar spent most of his time shackled and chained deep within the twisting confines of the ancient lair. When he was out, it's either a life on the battlefield or chained near the entrance, as if to display the vibrant colours of yet another trophy. And as a dire warning against opposing Tarn: Flamewar's right eye is gone and the socket a mess of scars, to say nothing of what covers his body, wings and all. These days though he's still in chains, he's often by Ishtar's side. But he's not free and she's not his owner. Unlike Berylia and the late Lithium, he remembers where he came from and his dreams take him back to the Windsinger's domain and eventually, the dream came true for a scant, brief time until reality crashed down again. He knows it is a life he could have and his heart is filled with hatred and anger, his remaining eye burning with malice. There's not telling what he'd do if freed from the cold wrought iron that binds him to the will of a god he has no wish to follow. Though, he is not completely gone to rage and hatred; he has three dragons he cares for, three dragons who he'd go out of his way to avoid harming. Two are medics, and the last is the strangest dragon he's ever known (and his lifemate, but he doesn't believe in beast-tales). He knows his birthright is that of a Wind Lord; yet his magic is shackled, chained and kept out of his reach. Tarn is right to fear him. |
