He's not to blame for what he's done. The blame lays on the clan, on his mother who couldn't keep him and his twin from Tarn's clutches. He doesn't have a choice.

... He always has a choice and his choice is to turn his back, to refuse acceptance for his actions. To look away from what he's done.
