Bringer of Autumn
Mate of Unanara

Autumn always loved the leaves during fall. He loved their colors and the way they fell gracefully, and landed on the forest floor without a sound. When he was with the trees of the forest, Autumn didn't feel quite so alone. When he was still a hatchling, his parents had parted ways. They had thought they'd been in love, but quickly realized they would never be the right fit for each other. They had awkwardly tried to take care of Autumn, but he still felt neglected.

His first real friend was Aila. The dryad was another lover of fall, and Aila spent hours with Autumn playing in the leaves. It became clear after awhile that Aila was Autumn's familiar. When Autumn was an adolescent, Aila made him his guise. It was a cloak made from autumn leaves and dryad magic. Around that time, Autumn met Pine. Pine was stubborn but friendly. She always seemed to be frowning, but her eyes always seemed to smiling. Autumn and Pine fell in love. They became mates and had a child, Birch. Birch was lively and enthusiastic. He was particularly interested in theater, and he loved making props and costumes for shows. He spent a lot of his time with Regalion, the clan's actor.
Pine was the leader of the Band, the group of dragons who protected the borders of the clan and dealt with violent, nearby beastclans. She died protecting the clan, leaving Autumn and Birch heartbroken.

While Birch latched himself even more onto Regalion, Autumn kept to himself. He wandered the forests, still feeling alone even with a child and a familiar. He kept his hood over his face. Bits of torn leaves got caught in his cloak, but Autumn did nothing about them. It was then dragons started to whisper that Autumn was the magical "bringer of autumn." Although Autumn was much more ordinary than the dragons claimed, there was something about him deeply tied to autumn. Perhaps it was simply the cloak, woven with an autumn dryad's magic, but maybe it was something deep within Autumn. The leaves seemed to change colors and fall as he passed, and the air near him always had a chill, even on the hottest days of summer. Unanara joined the clan. She was soft-spoken and kind. She was a skilled healer, and always seemed to know what would cure a dragon. And she saw Autumn's loneliness as just another thing to be cured. When the other dragons told Unanara not to go near the "bringer of autumn," she went anyway. She took walks in the forest with Autumn, and, to Autumn's surprise, they became good friends. And soon more than friends. Autumn, who thought he would never find love again, was falling in love with Unanara, and she with him. When they became mates, Unananara reached out to Birch. He was an adolescent now. Along with a new hatchling, Terra, Unanara, Autumn, and Birch became a family.

Two torches illuminate the cavern, revealing chests full of treats and grinning jack o' lanterns. Every possible surface has been covered with inexpertly-applied spiderwebs. Clearly, the hatchlings have been here. A few spider webs even hang off a pearlcatcher, who is directing another dragon as she fixes a paper chain. He turns, noticing your arrival.

A guise obscures his face and billows around him in the windy October air. Leaves rustle around his feet, and beads rattle on his legs. He makes a forbidding figure, until he pulls back his guise. His eyes are gentle and he smiles at you.
"Happy Halloween! Fall is my favorite time of year, and Halloween is the most fun part of fall, don't you agree?"

The other dragon finishes fixing the chain and strides toward the entrance. She is wearing old clothes with straw attached to them, presumably to look like a scarecrow. Straw flies off her as she moves, but she doesn't seem to notice. "Oh, a visitor!" she says.
"Yes, and I love his/her costume!" Autumn tells the wildclaw. "This is my mate, Unanara," he explains. "Could you pass me the treats?" Unanara hands him a piece of candy from a large chest filled with treats.

Autumn drops a piece of candy into your bag. A few leaves fall after it. "Enjoy!"

With summer drawing to an end here I've been in quite an autumnal mood lately, and I just love this aesthetic. That seraph is lovely- it's quite an underused gene, I feel; the three-toned colour of it and the feathered pattern can be so effective. On this boy, it looks very much like a fallen leaf! I love the layering of his apparel; the leg wraps with the beads from the birdskull set look really cool. And I really like the subtle shimmer the accent gives him too!
