Biography
Donated by Snaptrap for RoR Out-of-flight Raffle! 14/10/2015-RoR Surprise-Prize.
Pronounced: [flæɹɛz], like flap and resident.
After one[2015's] Starfall, Shunic felt motivated to contribute to developing plots of land on the outside of the modified ruins and tunnels of the main lair. This involved him travelling through the Ashfall Wastes to procure useful materials. It was during that time that he came upon a certain Nocturne. One whose birth-clan held a tradition of exalting noble warriors to serve their deity, leading to every member undergoing a training regime.
Flares's knack for blacksmithing came as no surprise to the traveller, who was well aware of the repute of the denizens of Fire.
In the beginning the Nocturne had met travellers at a market, one of whom was in search of a helper. This offer later turned into an apprenticeship to a forgemaster.
It was on the day of Flares's graduation that an embear of the realm, known as Ardour, recognised the Nocturne for his skill, and consented to become his familiar.
As a not insignificant battler, Flares was later picked up by a group of mercenaries. However, patches of that time are absent from his memory, and while the Nocturne does remember good times, they are overshadowed by the bad ones he does recall from shortly before he parted ways with them.
Melreyna welcomed the newcomer to the clan; a capable forger being of value in themselves. The Nocturne's skill in combat swiftly led to an ascension in the ranks which the Wildclaws of the clan perceive them to have. Though Flares may echo Clodi's thrill for the fight, he does not share the Imperial's disrespect for certain individuals of rank.
Gregarious by nature, Flares' door is always open for those intrigued to see a forger's work. A burgeoning friendship with Lennuh, a Fae hopeful to learn the craft of a jeweller, aided the Nocturne in persuading Pruni (Perception was the more willing to help) to produce gear for the safety of observers to the forge.
As the clime grew warm again, Ryndlite made a return visit, delighted to find the clan's forge to be in more regular use. Both Fire dragons took well to the company, and the Coatl's return became more of a certainty.
Some may disagree on whether the Nocturne is indecisive, having met enough dragons to accumulate a range of responses to a given question. However, if one only pays attention to his verbal response, he may swiftly go from expressing indecisiveness to an unambiguous answer.
One day the hunters were intensely interested by the word brought back of a Longneck clan upriver who were inclined to honour duels, and offered challenges to dragon-clans.
