There is a delicate balance to maintaining peace, an uncomfortable underbelly that begets questions of morality. Lady Dirae is no fool; she knows the necessity of subterfuge and values secrets as highly as blatant truths. She never goes digging for dirt herself however, employing no shortage of...listeners.

Mercer is the technical head of that particular employ, skirting around the official title of Spymaster and having no interest in prying it from its current holder's claws. Though it pertains well to her duties, she feels it counterintuitive to announce such a role and is far more content to be thought of as a mere serf as she collects all manner of information to whisper into her Lady's ear.

How Lady Dirae uses it is up to her, though Mercer has no shortage of pride when the official Spymaster bristles as information they attempted to hoard is mentioned within a meeting. Unlike her official counterpart, Mercer's claws are relatively clean - she has no need for assassins at her beck and call.

Not when a subtle gesture can startle would-be usurps into submission.
