Saleir

A drifter, Saleir left her birth clan many years ago, and never managed to join another. Though shy everywhere she went she found dragons she could call friends. But she always lost faith in them after they, intentionally or unintentionally, hurt her. Trust lost she would move on, promising to return in time but never doing so.

Over time she came to believe her only constant companion would be her bird.


In the way of winds, she found herself blown together with new dragons before long, and in one clan she finally meet Russanol. He arrived seeking shelter on his quest, and they hit it off, even as she was distancing herself from her other companions. When she decided to move on, he offered to travel with her, and she accepted.

Somewhere along the way, the Guardian dragon realized she was far more fragile than she ever let on, and startled himself by deciding he wanted to be the one to protect her.

She doesn't know what made him chose her as his Charge, and a part of her is still waiting for him to hurt her, but she's allowed herself to trust him. And he's not going to let anything drive them apart.


Saleir is terrified of loosing people, and was devastated when her first hatchlings moved on. Discovering Caranthir's egg shortly afterwards, she couldn't bear the thought of an abandoned child and incubated it herself.

After Caranthir departed she fell back into depression, but his return showed both of them that goodbyes don't have to be inevitable. Since then, she has grown into a capable clan matriarch, and the clan's floating lair has become a resting point for many wanderers she is happy to get to know, and then watch move on, knowing that true family may leave, but will return in time.
