Taint was hatched in a tribe of Plague dragons. She had many siblings, and there were other hatchlings who lived in the clan as well. They each had to have a mentor, and each of them earned a lengthy name. As by their very strict rules, when she became a fledgling, she was put to a test, like all of the other growing hatchlings.
She failed.
She was ridiculed and outcast from the group due to her not being 'worthy'.
Running away from their hateful glares, tears in her eyes, she fled as far as her undeveloped wings could take her.
She had gone from clan to clan, requesting for someone to take her in, but they always chased her away, or attacked her on sight. They always thought the blood on her was from someone else.
Days later, on the border of Plague and Arcane territories, a kind dragon from the Outcasts found her, heavily injured and exhausted. Finding a small cave, the dragon nursed her back to health, and calmed her panicked senses down.
She told him her story.
Despite what she had thought, he took her back to his clan, and allowed her a spot to live there.
She looks up to Skyshine as a mentor and savior, for allowing her to grow up in a slightly more normal group of dragons.

...That is, until she met Nightsky. At the time, he was still alive; a beautiful, calm Wildclaw who had a knack for the spirits of the dead and dancing. After a few shy encounters, Taint quickly warmed up to him, became friends, and quickly more than friends after that.
With some encouragement from Nightsky, they delved into the realm of spirits and necromancy, putting their abilities to use for the sake of knowledge.
Over this time, Taint started setting aside her birdskulls and feathers for more fitting apparel.
Wing adornments went from twine and feathers to shards of bone.
Head apparel went from fluffy and red to dark and grey.
Earrings were worn more.
Her claws started glowing an eerie red.
And to top it all off... A rune of the Plaguebringer now pulses above the single horn.

They never meant any harm, and none ever came to anyone nearby. Nobody minded her practice.
Taint grew to accept her Plague heritage. No longer was it a curse to her. She had grown from the wimpy runt hatchling to a powerful mage.
And nobody was harmed.
...
...
Until the day of Nightsky's death.

Personality: Taint has grown quite a lot since her first joining of the Keep. She used to be meek and shy, hiding from any gaze turning her way. She's become accustomed to living with all the dragons, though her shyness has kept its way and she is still weary of new people. She hates talking about her past and talking to most people in general.
Many believed she was growing better once she began spending time with Nightsky, and she was; no longer did she panic and flee from any interaction.
But with his death, she's reverted, holed up in her shack and only coming out for the rare meal.

A statue brought to life by Taint's magic. He prefers not to move, rather sitting still until he is needed. Being made out of stone, he's resistant to many attacks and can deal punishing hits if not careful. He is pretty fast, but has no ranged attack outside throwing its spear.
