"The wheels will turn, whether you like it or not..."

Backstory
Arogal, born a Guardian in the lands of the Stormcatcher, was a quite calm and focused hatchling. He always worked hard to impress despite his missing skilfulness and dexterity. His claws where to big, has paws to massive, to actually work on delicate machinery and other gadgets. When not working he always dreamt of going out and searching for his charge but his responsibilities kept him from following that inner call.

Over time Arogal grew more and more frustrated. His size and build changed more and more into the massive form a Guardian was known for which limited the work on his projects immensely. Desperation turned to frustration and the still young dragon became quickly known for his wrathful outbursts where he would destroy any piece he could get into his claws. Realizing what damage he could do he became a hermit, living secluded in a little cave near the shore and one of the spires where he couldn't destroy anybody else's works in his rampages.

Inea, a Pearlcatcher he considers his sister, and Sagona, mother of his first-born daughter Asona, were the only dragons that dared to come near him. Worried about his worsening condition Inea offered Asona a place to stay in her clan for the time being.
As a last resort Arogal started to tinker on himself, severely scaring his body while doing so. His experiments slowly twisted and turned his body until he himself was partly machine, unable to live without constant electricity in his close proximity. Sagona, in an attempt to save him, did the only thing that was left to try, changing Arogal's breed completely. Little did she know, that helping him to change was only one step on their way to happiness.

After getting used to his new appearance Arogal quickly had to learn that now he was quite capable to do all the projects he always desired to do but something was still missing. Despite his happiness he felt a deep craving deep inside. He loved his family dearly but they still weren't able to replace his charge, a desire he still inherited for his life as a Guardian.

It wasn't until he was able to finally bring happiness to his dear familiar Aranyat that he found his charge, or in his words, his core. He finally felt at peace by helping and protecting familiars in need of a clan. Unfortunately, due to his changed form, he was a danger to most beings which limited his cause to help familiars in need. In an attempt to soothe the pain he started to work on golems but they didn't satisfy his desire to help and protect.

It was, again, Sagona and Inea that talked with him until he finally agreed to pack his things and leave the Stormcatcher's domain. He and a bunch of others that were close to him and his family moved into the Lightweaver's land to find a good living spot for their new clan, Lux Machina.

Nowadays Arogal focuses on the vast amount of familiars his clan has gathered from all over the land and his cog collections. Only rarely does he still create golems or other little gadgets.

Aranyat
A golden idol like no other, Aranyat accompanies his master's way wherever he goes. Once a statue, bound to a fixed form, the golden lion has been reshaped into something that might look nearly identical to it's former self but is actually very different. Arogal achieved the idol as a joke from other dragons that neither believed in the familiar's usefulness as a companion or Arogal's abilities as a leader. Feeling pity for the poor creature the young dragon worked hard to understand the mechanics needed to give the being a new life.
After finally turning into an Imperial he used his new skilfulness and reshaped claws to breath new life into the idol, melting it down and recreating it completely. Now a creature out of metal plates and machinery, as golden as it's former self, but able to move, Aranyat looks like any other Golden Idol if he sits still. As soon as he moves though the plates shift and his machinery inside can be seen.
Arogal shaped everything out of the familiars own gold while shaping the excess material into a golden sphere.
