At a point when wolfmother Alaria's and princess Zamirav's plans for the Court's future had been long settled, and princess Arania and prince Ramilov were growing up to become the rulers destiny wanted out of them, a peculiar imperial arrived to the Court. The weary traveller introduced himself as Sandclaw, and made it known that he only intended to stay for a few weeks and that he'd like to use the Court's libraries in the mean time. It wasn't clear if Sandclaw wished to do research of some sort, and while both Gwerryn and princess Zyranijav volunteered to help him find what he wanted, he kindly and politely refused and was left alone to read through numerous tomes and scrolls. It was only after princess Arania herself happened upon the library that Sandclaw seemed to come alive. The most scandalous rumours say that it was love at first sight, and that upon seeing the future ruler of the Court Sandclaw decided to stay in the Court indefinitely. Others simply say that thanks to Arania's unforgiving spirit the princess made Sandclaw promise her that he'd stay, after she had realised the abilities and knowledge that he possesses. For it was found out that Sandclaw has prophetic visions, not unlike Arania's father, lord Rashed, as well as that he was far more talented in articulating what his visions meant compared to Rashed. Overall he was also more willing to share them, which Rashed had always found a nuisance. Sandclaw is queen Arania's most trusted and neutral advisor, and a great many dragons look up to him. He is valued as one of the most important members of the Court during Arania's rule, and handles his public reputation admirably.

. Among the Court's many dragons, Arania is the one closest to Sandclaw's heart. Working as the queen's advisor has made them close, and Sandclaw helps Arania understand her father better, thanks to their similar abilities. However, unlike Rashed, Sandclaw never takes any of his prophecies as the ultimate truth, and is certain that any and all of them can be changed, which pleases Arania greatly. Where Arania is, Sandclaw is often close - the most daring rumours say that Sandclaw and Arania have been lovers ever since they laid their eyes upon each other. While the two of them certainly have a connection, it has always remained strictly platonic, on both sides. They treasure their friendship greatly, and Sandclaw is content in the fact that he's able to match the queen's needs as both a conversation partner as well as a sparring partner.

. While it is obvious which side of the throne Sandclaw stands on, he is not the enemy of Ramilov. Unlike many other dragons who are keen to make the distinction between the queen and the king, Sandclaw is kind and helpful to all, even to the king whom the queen so greatly despises (or acts to despise, in Sandclaw's opinion). While Sandclaw is always able to hold his polite exterior, Ramilov does waver at times - Sandclaw finds himself often in situations where the king directs his suspicions and bad temper at him due to his own insecurities about Sandclaw or about frustrations that should be directed at Arania. Sandclaw does not go into great lengths to prove that he is Ramilov's friend and not his nemesis, and chooses to keep a polite distance when the king is having his bad days.

. It is said that when Altoak entered the Court, Sandclaw acquired a counterforce. The other imperial comes from unknown origins, much like himself, but while Sandclaw had no reputation to speak of, Altoak had come to the Court per king Ramilov's summons. Ramilov has long been in the search for a master smith who'd be able to fulfill whatever his needs would come up with, and Altoak is able to do just that, and more. He's in a close position with the king and gives his advice whenever the king asks him to. Some say that Sandclaw is intimidated by the other imperial, and that they'd even know each other, others build rumours about how Altoak is some great catalyst in a vision Sandclaw has had. Whatever the case, the two rarely act as if they even know of each other's existence. It is true that Sandclaw seems to be the more cautious and submissive of the two, but the issue is never touched upon publicly.

Sandclaw is poised and cordial, yet very mysterious. Many would say that he's easy to approach, albeit hard to really get to know. It's unusual for someone to be able to live in the Court as long as he has without revealing much of where he came from or what he used to do, and secretly Sandclaw takes great pleasure on being able to keep his secrets as just that - his own. This kind of behaviour doesn't garner him many close friends, but then again he doesn't seem to be concerned with those kinds of things. Often he's merely like a reflection of the dragons around him - if he's treated kindly and warmly, he'll treat others equally, and if others are rude or brush him off, they'll surely regret it after his cold treatment. There is an alien aura about him that makes even the toughest bullies cautious around him, and few can keep up a confident strut in his company. His familiar, the lux spectre Luvia, is often seen around the Court working on some mission from her master, and it's not unusual for a Court member to receive an invitation to some private gathering via Luvia.
