sadie vincenza vaccaro is daughter of the leaders of the notorious vaccaro family, powerful mobsters based in the southern icefield. it was a dicey endeavor when the twins approached vinny asking to take in one of his children, and the young sadie herself was not entirely happy about her new home, lacking as it was in the riches she was accustomed to. however, time spent in the gloom and shadows has sharpened her cunning and wiles, and she now looks at the carillon clan as a lair of opportunities for the vaccaro name. she's determined to do her family proud and fill both the clan's and her personal hoard with treasures. sleek, powerful, and still growing, sadie cuts an intimidating figure, and its easy to see the sharp spark in her eyes. she keeps herself a careful mix of strong and refined, though behind the scenes and among friends she lets loose with slang and an overenthusiastic sense of humor. her specialties are terrible puns- even her chosen name, sadie, is a play on "shady" for the land in which she was dropped off. though she enjoys intelligent company, it's easy to keep her sated with gold and jewels, and she's not shy about accepting gifts. the more she grows, the bigger her dreams of daring and crime become. she was quick to make ties with majora, winning her way into his greedy heart with demands and promises of future cuts. as the two formed a tight business relationship, their personal lives also became quite intertwined. the two love bickering and driving one another crazy, dangerous rivals and passionate lovers all at once, sadie taking jewels from majora's shop for almost nothing and majora one-upping sadie in his acquisitions. however, the two are a unified team through it all, plotting and working together to make the ultimate profit. her first big heist will forever be a reminder of her first taste at success and the repercussions of her hasty nature. through forming certain connections, she pulled off a graverobbing stint at an ancient mausoleum. hundreds of artifacts for the taking, waiting to be sold for a fortune to some poor sod. nevermind the hatchling tales about grave curses and the punishment for greed- amid the crumbling canopic pottery there lay the ultimate prize. that glittering, blood red ruby set in flawless gold on a fine chain- even majora would have to admit he'd been outdone this time. something about it seemed dangerous and unnerving, and sadie felt it perfectly matched as her first trophy. but not all curses are harmless bedtime stories, and as sadie left the crypt something of the death within went with her. the curse was powerful, and she found that at times her countenance would transform into something skeletal and fearsome. rather than selling off the amulet or trying to get rid of it, she decided to keep it. gruesome and painful as the curse may be, her pride and stubbornness insisted she use it to her advantage; she would own it, it would become her calling card, and she would use it to strike fear into the hearts of any that stood in her way. besides majora, her trusted circle includes portoro, the centuar she befriended as a hatchling during her first days in the carillon clan. strict, serious, and mostly silent, portoro is an ace archer who used to be the head of her herd until an upheaval drove her out. now the beast loyally follows sadie, and although she may not always agree with the imperial's plans and decisions, she follows them to the letter. a good friend and an excellent bodyguard, portoro is always armed and watching sadie's back whenever they travel. |
