'The Dragons of the Shatterclaw Mesa are the governors and employees of a modest Intern Orientation Facility. The clan has recently expanded enough to be granted office in the Tempest Spire, but most of their activity happens in the Lightning Farm. Every day, young, ambitious dragons from all over the world are drawn to the facility to recieve the education they need to thrive in their service to the great Lightning God.
The hallmark of the clan is ambition. The Dragons of the Shatterclaw Mesa hail from every background, but all of them are dedicated to honing their natural talents and making the most of their capabilities. The clan hosts relatively few scientists, as most of the permanent clan members gravitate to fields that benefit the intern training operation.
The clan's self-proclaimed great mission is twofold. The dragons seek to 1. Purify or eradicate the forces of the Shade from the world, and 2. Unify all the world's beings (preferably under the banner of Stormcatcher) and bring about the Age of Invention. To this end, the clan works ceaselessly in the great hidden halls carved beneath the Mesa.
The clan is currently embroiled in a furious conflict with the Beastclans. The Dragons of the Shatterclaw Mesa have clashed with the Carrion Canyon's harpy clans since the clan was founded, but the unification of the beastclans has set the dragons against all beastman species. Though the clan is small, the extensive training of its warriors allows the Shatterclaws to mount an effective war effort.
The Dragons of the Shatterclaw Mesa are remarkably cooperative when it comes to working with other clans, even between flights. Thus the clan has a multitude of alliances across Sornieth. Clan Leader Avalon believes that building relationships and allying with other clans is the key to realizing the clan's greater goals. The Shatterclaws' alliances are upheld through exchanges of goods and treasure, hosting of dragon ambassadors, and granting or requesting nesting rights in clan holds.
Due to their state of war, the clan does not presently ally with dragon clans that have relations with the Beastclans. The Shatterclaws instead lend aid to allied dragons who war against beastmen.'
