Day 2-Insect Now it keeps raining where I live. So...Looking for an interesting insect in internet, I came across this: And here is a close-up on the head: Fulgora laternaria colloquially is the lightshark with nut heads, the alligator bug is a herbivore known for its wide range of common names, including fly lanterns. As for me, I like insects. They are interesting and inspiring, but I understand people who are a little afraid of them.

Dead ones would have been a lot easier, the only living ones we currently own are food for the gecko and don't show often. However, you know what's cute? Those little zippers! This is a rainbow millipede, they're so pretty <3 I owned others for some time & may get new ones soon! Or phasmids, I can't decide yet. Maybe both if I find room ;v; I don't like every insect, but some like those I really adore.

Insects: Well, as an Australian, I suppose I should post a photo of a spider, right?! Here's one that was in my laundry: Bugs and spiders and creepy crawlies don't really bother me, they all have their place in the ecosystem. Spider webs are worse than the spiders themselves in my opinion!

Day 2 Insects Here's a cute little caterpillar eating a leaf in my front yard :) I used to be scared of bugs when I was younger but now I'm not bothered about them, I think they're kinda cute. I still don't like cockroaches and grasshoppers though, those two creep me out a little.

@HauntedCrow - so I said creepy crawlies don't really bother me - but that caterpillar (or one similar anyway) is the one thing that makes me go ewww. Based entirely on the fact that I had to rake out some leaves when I moved into a house one time. And I swear, the pile was at least 1/3 caterpillars, and those hairs are itchy when you're wading in them!

It's very hot and dry here, so the bugs were too fast and busy for a picture. I do have this photo from a few summers back (if you search online it should only appear on my blog). A butterfly in the mountains: I can't stand touching insects, but I do find them very interesting. They may not be important to us, but they're the backbone for entire ecosystems, soooo I try to shoo them outside. My favorite insect has to be the ladybug!

So just before I post the badge, winner and the next theme, here's my submission! I only saw one spider today and that was at the bus stop and honestly I was too embarassed to start taking a picture of it what with all the other people their waiting, so I'll have to submit my favourite: Scarab beetles - I love seeing the little ancient scarab beetles in museums in the Egyptian parts, I'd love to have one if I could And of course, bumble bees. I got stung by one on my chin when I was little but that's never put me off

I'm not sure if this is what you were looking for, but octopi are mollusks. Their intelligence and ability to change color are amazing. I'm not too fond of bugs, but octopi are awesome!
