on another topic, do i smell a breed change coming?
No I loved amosis and erebos so much ugh.
I'm all for drama and stuff but I would really like to have more time to get to know the other dragons coz I'm really lost with some of them, not gonna lie.
So it's a nuh-huh for meh.

Breed them again! I'm already sad enough that they aren't going to be able to have anymore nests... What a tragic chapter, Eshan just really isn't getting a break, is she? Somehow it never occurred to me that Amosis could die...
Also, is Tundra maybe possibly becoming a gaoler herself???

Day One Hundred Fifty Four:
Death wasn’t a new concept to a Gaoler. Down in the deep of the Fortress of Ends where the Shade-touched beasts fought to be free, incidents may not be frequent, but were common enough. Such duties as the Gaolers held were all as unforgiving as the very ice plain they lived upon, and they all understood this deep in their bones.
Even so, it was almost unsettling to Einar to see the effect death seemed to have upon this small clan.
Just in the little time he’d known them, they had lost five dragons and three familiars. From the stories he’s heard, they had apparently lost many more before as well. Yet every death seemed to have a great impact on all of them, even those of the familiars. He was almost surprised that they could continue on in this constant state of mourning.
The worst of the clan, he observed, was the auburn Mirror, Ehsan. He wasn’t surprised that she blamed him for the death of her son; Shade-infested or not, he had killed him. He owned that. That blame, however, seemed only compounded upon by the loss of her mate. He could understand her anger in that matter as well, but there was little he could do in that situation. It was either they lost one or two members, or they would lose all. Thankfully, the green Spiral didn’t share her resentment of him, though the young dragon seemed rather in a state of deep shock. It was clear the Guardian had been very close to him, though whether or not the two were mates was unclear to Einar.
He could not let them all fall into complete disarray, however. It was clearly very dangerous in this part of Sornieth, and the Gaoler wasn’t about to abandon this small clan to a terrible fate. Floundering as they were, he had already resolved to escort them to wherever they were going. This “Tangled Wood”, as they called it. Admittedly, it sounded like an odd place to him; one of shadows filled with beings that play tricks and revel in the constant dark. He had noted, however, that the eldest Spiral, Blithe, appeared to have originated from this place, though he remembers little of it when questioned.
The sound of approaching footfalls broke him out of his thoughts and he looked up to see the younger of the two remaining Mirrors of the Shadowbound; Alkaios, if the Gaoler remembered correctly. The young dragon winced when they made eye contact, losing whatever confidence he had approached him with in an instant. Even then, he didn’t leave, so Einar prompted him with, “Is there something you need?”
It was still another few seconds before the Mirror simply blurted out, “I need you to train me.”
“Train you?” Einar echoed, eyes narrowing thoughtfully. Alkaios nodded firmly.
“To fight,” he clarified. Einar considered him quietly, making the Mirror squirm under the scrutiny.
“Why ask me?” he asked bluntly.
“Well,” Alkaios mumbled, hesitating. “You’re training Tundra, and I guess- I just thought- she’s gotten really strong, and I-“ He stopped, taking a breath to steady himself before drawing himself up before the Gaoler. “I want to be able to defend my family.”
Einar was hardly surprised by this answer. Considering what the young dragon had been through the past few weeks, he would have expected as much. As such, he dipped his head toward Alkaios, saying, “An honorable cause. Very well. You will join in the lessons I have been providing the Tundra.”
“Thank you!” Alkaios replied in a rush of relief. Then quickly he added, “Sir. Thank you, sir.”
“That isn’t necessary,” the Gaoler shrugged, standing up with a stretch.
“Oh- ok,” Alkaios nodded, though he shifted in a discomfited gesture.
“Come,” Einar said, jolting him back to attention. “You have much to catch up on.”

[item=nickel ore]
Speaking of people with much to catch up on. I'm falling so far behind adfjhadsf. Lots of just little things have come up IRL, so finding time to get on FR has been a struggle, not gonna lie. Additionally, I'm going to be gone this weekend, so... yeah.
Anyway, for those wondering, I am going to breed Amosis and Ehsan one last time [s]because d r a m a[/s], but there's only one slot open, so only one of the hatchlings can join the locke. The others will be given away~.

@Samiky Yeah, I get that. I am breeding them, but I may wait a while to introduce their offspring so I can get some writing done for the others, because I want to get to know them as well! (And this is why I have the dragon cap to begin with, lol.)
@Petall I know, poor Ehsan :(. I never wanted this for you, I swear-
Also, that's a s e c r e t [s]not really, but shhhh[/s].

Tbh Einar's quickly becoming one of if not my favorite character. As for Ehsan and Amosis, I feel like this is the only time you don't want a full nest just because of lore ramifications. :((

No worries, just come on when you can, real life always comes first!
There's something comforting about the time being taken for the clan as they grieve, and having a chapter used to reflect that, so I thank you for that. It really was a beautiful chapter. And I am so ready to cherish Alkaios with everything I've got left. He is such a brave dragon, and I don't want anything to happen to him. (I'm still a bit bitter about the lost potential in Sebastian...)
Also, I'm very excited for the Eshan and Amosis nest!!!! Eep!!!!
