Bryn's first travel to the Icewarden. [columns]Bryn ended up traveling to somewhere opposite of home; a cold place in the icy terrain, deep in the white covered forest. She had come to the Icewarden. It was a harsh landscape, and she wasn't quite sure she went the right way - or if she just walked further away from where she was supposed to go. Everything looked the same, from the snow covered trees and the blue sky above her. Sometimes she thought she heard someone call out for her, but it was just the wind pushing it's way through the bushes. Suddenly a big silhouette stepped out of the shadows, it came over to Bryn and introduced himself as Ignacie, who was the founder of the clan she was traveling to. He brought her to their cave, where a lot of other dragons - who looked just as excited as her - came to say hello to the new stranger. She was welcomed warmly, and as she wasn't prepared for the weather of the cold Icewarden she was even gifted a scarf and a hat to keep her warm on her stay. She also had a little soft bird get attached to her, and it would come with her wherever she went. While she was visiting she got to know a lot of the other dragons in the clan, and got to make great friends. There was one who stood out for Bryn, someone who looked mysterious and different. He was mostly by himself, but he looked majestic in her eyes - she couldnt help herself by getting drawn towards him. [nextcol][item= Blue and Brown Flair Scarf][item=Mage's Walnut Hat][item=Sweetpuff][/columns] She wanted to get to know him better, so she asked around a little and got to know he's mostly just for himself. She spent the next few days being shown around the place, and she had to admit - as cold and boring it looked, it sure was a warm and fun place to be. When the last day came around, she couldnt hold herself anymore, she just had to talk to the unfamiliar dragon. So that's what she did, she tried talking to him later that day, when everyone had gone to their own places and it was getting darker. She quietly sat down next to him, and wasn't so sure of what to say. They were sitting silently around a bonfire, just at the entrance of the cave. She was captured by the beauty of the starnight over them and how the snow lit it's surroundings up. After a few minutes she started telling him how much she wanted to travel, and how lonely it had become at home. He just quietly listened to her, listened to everything she hoped would happen, and everything she wanted to experience. She told him she would just stay for three days before leaving again, but maybe, just maybe - she could come back one time if she really liked it here. She went quiet, hoping the unfamiliar dragon would say something. She looked out at the terrain, wondering how they were able to live in such a freezing environtment. "Divant" she suddenly heard him say. "I'm Divant". At that he stood up and walked a few steps out of the cave, stopped for a second before looking over his shoulder at her. "Let me show you something". Her smile grew, Bryn quickly got excited for what was about to happen. She followed Divant happily out into the cold night. He took her over some hills, and they ended up at the top of a little mountain. The view was breathtaking, and Bryn stood there speechless as she looked up at the nightsky and over the glistening white terrain. Once in a while she could catch sight of a shooting star. She felt at peace. She was brought back to life as a snowball hit her, and she quickly turned around to see Divant with a bunch of round snowballs - all ready to be thrown. They ended up playing all night in the snow; they had a snowball fight, which Divant obviously won. She had never even made one before. He showed her how to skii, and she couldnt lie - she really had to practice, it was hard just moving a few meters ahead. They had competitions on who could slide down the hills faster, and he showed her how to icefish. [columns]After a long night, they ended up back at the mountain, where they both sat just admiring the view. Bryn was too captured by the beauty that she didn't even realise Divant had disappeared until he came back. She looked over at him as he sat down again, shyly handing her a red rose. They spent the rest of the night looking out at the view, talking once in a while, but mostly sitting in silence. They even laid a nest, and got three hatchlings together. It was comfortable, and she was happy. It was a nice way to end the trip. [nextcol][item=Romantic Red Rose][/columns]

After traversing the cold domain of the Icewarden, it was time for some warmer weather in the deserts of the Shifting Expanse. While wandering the edges of Carrion Canyon, Bryn found herself suddenly caught up in a fierce battle between two clans, a perfect storm of powerful magics and even more powerful dragons beneath the thundering skies. It wasn't long before two large Guardians came to her aid, ushering her away from the scene and into the safety of a nearby cave system, the older of the two scolding her for travelling this area alone. Once things started to calm down outside, they introduced themselves as Ratchet and First Aid of the Sparks. Now intrigued in the powerful clan and their war, Byrn was fast to ask permission to stay a few days- and after a meeting with Optimus, he was happy to oblige as long as she was careful. [item=painted protobeast] For her stay, Byrn was assigned a small fae called Valentine to watch over her. So of course, she took interest in what he had to say first. They traversed the deep cave system belonging to the Sparks all day long, discussing the history of the clan under the light of softly glowing stones, sharing stories of their own adventures. When she learned of the fae's study of the Arcane arts and Alchemy, she wanted a demonstration of his abilities naturally! Obliging, Valentine gave her a lesson on Alchemy, and with him she learned to create a Painted Protobeast to keep her company. [item=buttercup lace collar] After a little bit, she had gotten to speak to most of the Sparks at least once. They were a fascinating bunch in the odd things they could do, but there was one who stood out amongst the rest who she hadn't seen yet. Deep within the caves of the Carrion Canyon, there was a grotto filled with life unlike any she saw elsewhere in the desert, and in it there was a sage by the name of Cinnamon. With the permission of Valentine, she finally paid her a visit to inquire about her craft- for the small fee of a single firefly. She spent that day learning of how she cared for the grotto, and of the art of divination, in which she learned how to enchant her own hide with mushrooms that glowed in the darkness of the clans caves. As a final task, Cinnamon offered to read her paw and tell her future. She told her of how her next adventure shall see her visit a grotto even more magnificent than her own, surrounded by Jewels and precious flowers. She gave unto her a flowery lace collar, saying she would need to preen a little in preparation, and they parted ways. It had been a nice trip, and with a warm goodbye from her guide and the rest of the clan, she felt ready to see what more the world had to offer. There was a new adventure already on the horizon.

Bryn stayed at the Paradise Hotel for a couple of days. Because she was referred to and was a simple traveler looking for company rather than being alone, the hotel was the perfect place for her to be as they specialized in accompaining the guests. "Greetings, young one.", Primula said with a smile on her face. "Hello." Peony quietly said besides Primula. "I've heard you from our other guest the other day and they told me to let you in. I hope you feel comfortable here and we will design some hosts to be with you in your stay." Then she clapped her hands and called out to two dragons who came to them. A black and blue male skydancer walked with some energy though still maintaining a composed posture. Another blueish dragon came along with him. A female Bogsneak with a book in hands gracefully stood in front of Bryn with a calm smile on her face. "These are Lupie and Iris, miss Bryn. They will take you to your guest room. Lupie specializes in making water-based magic sculptures, while Iris is good with divinations." Divinations? Magic sculptures? Now, that was something worth looking at. She got interested in this talk as they both escorted her to her room. The scent of the room was a light floral one mixed with the smell of fresh leaves bathed in dew. There was a balcony and wisteria leaves fell on the top of the window. They both let her sit down on the table at the center and asked her if she'd like anything to drink and/or eat. She asked if they had any recommendation and ended up with some honey-sweetened lotus tea. It was slightly bitter at first, but due to the honey it got sweeter by the end of the sip. Quite intriguing, but delicious. It was a delightful stay. She experienced seeing a magenta life-like sculpture of a Mottled Buttersnake moving around as sparkles left the ends of its body. A flower which blossomed right on her hand before beautifully disappearing. Bryn then asked for some light divination though she asked Iris to ommit important information for her future since well- Wouldn't it be boring if she was to know what happened? Though most of the information was trivial due to her request or things she already knew due to being at the past, she was amazed by her divination and even happened to clap at the end of it. They showed her around the area and a nearby village's fair. Bryn saw breath-taking flower fields, mystical forests and delicate gardens. They took her to amazing places until her adventurous heart was content. Once her small stay was over due to the hotel being quite an expensive one, she smiled and thanked the hosts who took care of her and both the owners, walking away in order to go to another journey. Who knew- One day she could be staying there again when she got enough money on her to do so- Was it worth every penny though? Absolutely.

On a late afternoon, a beautiful and interesting lady landed in the Sunbeam Ruins. Her scales glimmered in the setting sun's light, meanwhile her wings looked liked the upcoming night. Several dragons stopped in their tracks, to stare at her for a while. She gracefully shook herself, stretched her body and looked around. Then kindly and politely, but excitedly turned to the present ones. "Good evening, all of you. Do you know a dragon named Nightsky?" A little fae nodded, and flew away. In a few minutes, a big dark blue Guardian arrived. "Bryn, if I'm correct? Welcome to our clan. I'm Nightsky, the leader. We've been expecting you." He smiled and turned around, gently jerking his head, signing Bryn to follow him. The Pearlcatcher jumped after him. "I can't believe I'm finally here. I can feel a new adventure on the horizon. It reminds me of the time when..." After a 20 minutes of walk and talk, they arrived. "You must be tired. We prepared dinner for you, and a comfortable resting place." He led her into a busy and noisy cave, where several others were dining as well. "Get comfortable, and enjoy your night. We hope you'll like your time here. After you finished eating, ask Savni, she'll show you to your accomodation." He pointed at a pink Imperial, than left. Soon a happy, but little hyperactive Skydancer girl came through, with slightly burn aprons. "Your dinner m'lady. Dig in!" She flew away immadiately, serving more dishes, knocking down some pans from the wall, on the way. Bryn laughed. It was a noisy and messy clan, but somehow it felt cosy. ~ She woke up, surprisngly well rested. Took a deep breath, from the fresh, early morning air, and prepaired take off, when she felt something rubbing on her legs. A tiny hedgehog was looking bravely into her eyes. "D..do you want to come with me?" The little familiar chirped, and hopped into her pouch. After making sure her new friend was safe, she flew into the sky. Bryn had a lot of exploring to do. That was the main reason of her visit. Where should I even start? Wanted to take out her map, when she spotted a broken building on top of the hill. To an average dragon, it looked boring or even scary. But not to Bryn. Her eyes started sparkling. "That way!!" The following few days, she flew around The Beacon of the Radiant Eye, the Mirrorlight Promenade, the Sundial Terrace and even the Hewn City. Uncovered every corner of the Sunbeam Ruins. She was looking for exciting places in the morning, while having fun with the clan in the evening. She made some great friends along the way as well. ~ Soon, it was time to leave. "I have many more places to visit." She said her goodbyes. "But it was nice meeting you." With that, the Pearlcatcher took off. Bryn had to hurry, to arrive to her next destination. "But please come back, if you'll be free!" "You're welcome here any time!" "Don't forget about us!" The dragons shouted their good wishes after her. They gazed at the sky, until the sleak figure completly disappeared. The clan members were sad, to see a new friend go so quickly, but they had happy memories to keep. (sorry for bad quality or spelling mistakes. T~T)

[outfit=957840][outfit=957805][outfit=957799] The coast of the Eastern Shoreline glimmered under the eternal sunlight, aquamarine waters catching flecks of luminance beneath their waves. The part of the coast itself was uninhabited due to the massive cliffs isolating it from the rest of Sornieth. Just the perfect place to hide a portal, Bryn thought as she stood before a jutting wall of rock. She noticed a small, rectangular hole in the rock, barely large enough for a key to fit through. Perhaps that is what activates the portal? A large shadow shaded her eyes from the sun for a brief moment, prompting her to crane her neck upwards. A flash of sunflower yellow and teal skies spiralled gracefully down toward the sandy coast. Just as Bryn figured out who the figure was, It spread its faceted wings wide, and gently landed onto the sandy beach, greeting her with a cheery smile. “Well, you’re here early!” the Skydancer pulled out a metallic stick out of one of his pouches and inserted it into the hole in the rock. In a blink of an eye, the key disappeared and the wall of rock warped itself into a glowing, starwood-blue portal. “This is just one of multiple portals we have that lead in and out of the Realm,” he explained excitedly. “This portal’s the one visitors use. Come on!” he gestured as he walked through the misty swirl of magic. That’s new. Bryn could barely contain her own excitement as she followed him through the portal. The next thing Bryn knew, she was standing on a floating platform surrounded by gilded portals of different colors. Adjusting her eyes to the apparent dusklight of the Realm, she took a long, visual sweep around the area, taking in the beautiful scenery of starwood vegetation and glimmering, purple-tinted rock formations. “Enjoying the view?” the Skydancer asked. “Yeah, this is amazing! ...Is the Realm a crater?” she inquired back, noticing the basin-like shape of the landscape. The floor of the basin was blanketed in starwood trees and In the middle of it had a large labyrinth with a supermassive starwood willow at its center surrounded by a gleaming cerulean lake. Other ancient floating platforms of foreign architecture dotted the sky of the Realm, as well as on the ground forming pockets that jutted out from the trees. “Yep, or at the very least, I think so. No one really knows and believe me, I’ve asked around,” he shrugged and extended his claw. “I’m Aileron, by the way.” “Bryn, but you already know me.” she took his claw and shook it rigorously. “So, what have you got planned for me?” “First day’s not with me. Apparently, there’s a banquet going on in the palace and you’re invited. None of my concern, really. Fancy parties are not my thing.” Aileron rolled his eyes at the mention of the word ‘fancy’. “You’ll be with Lepidia.” “Did someone call me?” Another Skydancer, this time a female, landed on the same platform. She bowed her head and tipped her top hat forward. “Good evening, darlings! You must be Bryn, am I right?” “Yep!” Lepidia’s smile was sweeter than wisp fruit. “Dear, you’re going to have a wonderful time with us! Come along, we need to get you a gown for the banquet, stat!” Bryn flashed a nervous glance at Aileron, who simply smiled and waved. “See you tomorrow!” He grinned and jumped back through a golden portal. --- Will continue it at a later time when not so busy :)

Bryn's travels soon took her to the Scarred Wasteland, where she found a small group of dragons tearing at the rotting carcass of a creature mutilated beyond identification. A sleek black Mirror observed the work of her clan, yet caught sight of the traveling Pearlcatcher and approached swiftly, her four eyes studying the dragon with a warning look. "You tread close, stranger," she hissed. "This is our kill." But Bryn had no intention of intruding. She explained who she was and her purpose in the Wasteland, and to this Caeridxa saw an opportunity of education. Bryn was welcomed into the clan and offered a place to stay for some time, though was quickly overcome by one of the Plaguebringer's rampant pestilences. She moved in with Wasp, the clan's medic, and her sickness was promptly tended to. "No worries, I assure you," the little spiral assured Bryn as she wiped away the sweat that had beaded on her forehead - one of many symptoms that revealed the fever she now battled against. "A fever means you've an active immune system. You bear the sight of the Plague Mother, so I doubt you'll remain sick for long." Recovery was reasonably smooth - no surprise, for Bryn was a Plague dragon herself. The next couple of days were wild and exciting: the clan held a sparring match, and Bryn had front row seats to a duel between Atlas and Aethera, two of the clan's strongest fighters. She tagged along as Parse lead a group of hunters to track and bring down nearly an entire flock of birds. She got to see the Wyrmwound for herself, accompanied by Facade, a failed necromancer, and listened to her tale. And one night during her stay an old, blood-splattered Imperial with antlers of bone sat herself beside the Pearlcatcher as she gazed at the stars. "You return to your home," the Imperial rasped, gnawing absentmindedly on the hilt of her cleaver. "Wise. Mother missed you. 'Tis always sad to see brethren leave, but perhaps knowledge of this world is knowledge of value." Bryn had no immediate response to this. The Imperial gave off a strange air of corruption - as if the blood that pulsed through the visible arteries on her wings was the same blood that seeped through the soil. It was hard to find the right words. "You've traveled far, yes? Good. Yet there is still much more to explore. It brings me joy to see your return, but you mustn't stay long. Let the Plaguebringer see through your eyes - let Her see the world as you do, so She may spread Her disease when the time comes. You would be doing Her an honorable service." She handed Bryn a small vial of an unknown substance, warning her never to drink its contents. "No, keep this with you as a reminder of our Mother. A memoir of home. Wasp carries this same substance around her neck - a good luck charm, to her. Perhaps it will serve you the same purpose." Bryn couldn't help but be a little creeped out by the ominous Imperial, but accepted her gift nonetheless. When the day came that Bryn had to depart, the Imperial watched her, never taking her eyes away even as she became a black speck upon the horizon of the setting sun. items: [item=Vial of Mysterious Toxin]

As Bryn approached the edge of the Plaguelands, the crisp smell of the night air was swallowed up by the sickly-sweet smell of decay. She wasn't a tundra, but she knew she would never be able to forget that smell. She debated flying higher to escape the stench, but she was already almost to her destination. A sudden noise to her left captured her attention, and she turned to see a large owl, almost as big as a fae. Its chest and legs were clad in dark iron twisting with intricate knots, and its deep brown feathers rustled in the breeze as it stared at her with piercing green eyes. She admired it for a while longer, then it veered away from her, seaglass eyes still locked with her marbled gaze. When she didn't immediately follow, the greatowl banked back to her side, armor clinking faintly, and snapped at one of the dark fireflies that were somehow keeping pace with Bryn despite her speed. The greatowl veered away again, and this time she swooped with it, following its intricate flight plan until they came within sight of a village, boundaries marked by stone spires and a great arch. The greatowl tucked in its wings and dove for the hellish ground kilometers below, and Bryn followed suit, laughing as she plummeted towards the ground, fireflies seemingly unaffected by the fall. At the last second, Bryn outstretched her wings, pumped the leathery limbs, and managed to land with only a little stumble. The greatowl sailed gracefully and landed on her shoulder, claws digging into her carapace as she walked under the arch. She looked around at the town, which was much larger than it had seemed from the air. Her interests were interrupted by the sound of clicking, and she looked to see a dark blue mirror with a snarling white lion visage casually rattling her spines. "You must be Bryn!" Bryn was surprised to hear how cheerful the derg sounded underneath the fierce cowl. "We were a bit worried when you didn't arrive last night," Bryn chuckled nervously. "Sorry about that, I just... I lost track of time." The mirror's smile was barely visible, hidden by the fangs of the lion's maw. "That's alright." She turned and beckoned for Bryn to follow. "It did mom some good to have her patience tested. I'm Whisp, by the way. Everyone is so excited to-" Her sentence was cut off as a dark pink shape streaked towards the pair. The small shape was revealed to be a fae, and an explosion of flowers accompanied her impact with Bryn. The greatowl's squawk sounded almost like a resigned sigh as a pink head popped out of the small pile of flowers, fins waving like a dog's tail. "BRYN!" The fae's tone was confusingly expressive, and she even smiled as she flew around Bryn, draping a string of flowers like a lei around the visitor. "You're here, you're here!" The tiny pink derg chirped in unusually obvious excitement. "It's so good to have you here, I was bursting with excitement waiting for you to come!" "You're always bursting with excitement Am," Whisp remarked with a chuckle. Bryn smiled at the little pink-and-black fae, still a bit confused by her expressiveness. "I need to go wake everyone up and tell them you're here!" Whisp barely caught the excited dragon by the tail before she zipped off. "Amortentia, do you know what time it is? Let them get their sleep, Bryn will still be here; she needs to sleep now too." Whisp let the penitent-looking fae go and turned to look at Bryn. "We'll hold off on the welcoming festivities until morning: right now you need some rest. I'll show you to your quarters so you can get some shut-eye." The nest Bryn slept in that night was quite comfortable, the bottom flattened and the cloth soft and worn from years of use and wash. But she barely noticed the comfort and collapsed into sleep almost immediately, tired from her nighttime flight and determined to get as much sleep as she could. She didn't want to be snappy when the clan celebrated her arrival. The greatowl hopped into her room, somehow removed of its armor, and snuggled onto Bryn's sleeping form, tucking its head under its wing with a comforting coo. The revelry the next day made Bryn glad she hadn't arrived any later. Even 30 minute's delay would've left her cranky; she had barely gotten enough sleep as it was. A sleek pink ridgeback who introduced himself as Seluvia came by before the feast to help Bryn dress up. [outfit=981884] The silver dress was soft and seemed to be constantly ruffled by an intangible breeze, and Bryn fleetingly wondered why anyone would waste magic on a flowy dress. The winged headpiece was a struggle to put on, the lace on the flowers was itchy, and the lattice on her wings was restrictive, but when Seluvia showed her to a mirror, all thoughts of discomfort vanished. Admiring herself in the mirror, Bryn was surprised how good she looked. She had never cared much about her appearance, but she now understood why someone had taken the time to weave magic into the dress. Bryn thanked the ridgeback; he responded with a nod and a "You can keep it if you're willing to pay for it." She was almost tempted, but Seluvia's smile gave her the impression that the price would not be worth it. After the breakfast feast, almost everyone came up to meet her, including other guests to the clan. A blue-and-red skydancer with undersized wings and a steaming metal mirror captured most of her attention, but neither came up to introduce themselves. After the feast she was invited to participate in some of the more interesting activities of the clan, like hunting, sparring, and fighting in the coliseum. Before joining Whisp and a glowing coatl named Selkien in the coliseum, the metal mirror she had seen at breakfast called her over. He unwrapped the bundle in his arms, showcasing an armor set. [outfit=981887] The chestpiece was snug but comfortable, despite being metal; the wing piece was segmented, allowing it to move and bend with her wings, and the boots were made of a material she could not place, one that felt like leather when worn, but metal when struck. A black cloak completed the outfit, blocking almost all the pieces from view, and one arm was serrated, another weapon to add to claws, teeth, and the beautiful rapier Flintiron had given her (that she knew she would not use: it was too beautiful to be bloodstained). The eyepiece was optional, seeing as most coliseum opponents were to small to reach her snout, but Bryn liked the way they emphasized the green in her eyes. For the next few days, she followed various clan members around, watching them work and asking questions. She had found a curious amalgamation of random clothing items -she assumed it was some sort of lost & found type thing- and had picked out a mismatched outfit of comforting and comfortable items. She kept the boots from her armor set, and found a wing cover that was of a similar make. A soft white and black mantle went well with her carapace, and was extremely comfortable. [outfit=981891]

A Foray into Friendship! [columns] This was not the first time Bryn has traveled to the Icewarden's lands, but she could say it was perhaps not her favorite region of Sornieth. It was cold, quiet, and seemingly endless with nary a traceable landscape in sight. However, what did convince her to visit were a few of the most colorful characters she had ever seen. An Imperial with the curious name of Robert approached her one day while his clan was visiting elsewhere. He weaved wondrous tales of sailing with a crew of dragons from all flights of life across the outer seas, and festivities on board his ship every night. Naturally curious and starving for such unorthodox adventure, Bryn promised to visit when she could. She even entwined her claws with Robert's familiar, a sprite, and swore to come when she could. She didn't expect this small exchange to amount to something but on the eve of her visit whilst lost in a snowstorm, she saw a strange light in the distance. Her instinct to follow it proved brilliant for in just a few minutes she came face to face with a massive seafaring vessel with Robert and his sprite holding the orb of light she followed out of the storm. Bryn landed only to be immediately assaulted in an embrace by the little familiar. "Talia seems to have taken quite a liking to you, Bryn. Why don't you stay with her for the duration of your visit?" Talia, the sprite, seemed to twirl in the air happily at the prospect. Who was Bryn to deny such a happy little thing? She nodded and followed Robert off the crow's nest. Several other dragons awaited them on the deck excited to greet the pearlcatcher. A Skydancer that reminded Bryn of a kelp forest approached her with a bright smile peeking our from under her skull mask. "My name is Halcyon, first mate and partner to Pensacola, the master of this ship. We were expecting you!" Halcyon handed Bryn a strange conch shell and stepped back beside her crew. it was beautiful but... why were they looking at her expectantly? Looking to Robert for advice, he put a claw to his maw and blew some air out onto it. She realized what he meant and pulled the shell to her own lips and blew. A horn sounded before the dragons around her cheered, food was brought in from the kitchen, and the performers danced the night away. It was a welcome feast! [nextcol] [item=rippleconch] [/columns] [columns] [item=light sprite] [item=undine's flatfins] [item=true rainbow trout] [nextcol] As a guest of the Paradise System, life was never dull for Bryn. if Robert did not wake her from her squishy bed, another member of the crew did. They knew so many activities and games to keep her entertained but not overwhelmed, it was almost like she was a guest at a resort. An Icy resort, but a lovely one nonetheless. Most nights she would find herself in the Crow's nest, gazing out at the Southern Lights and the inky ocean. Pensacola, captain of the ship, had said the frozen beach a little ways west from here contained a coral reef. It was unheard of this far south, it was far too cold to maintain a reef, wasn't it? The captain chuckled, his potent magic escaping his nostrils for a moment. "Why don't you find out? But you cannot visit without the ability to breathe underwater. Have a good night." And the captain vanished in the breeze. Oh, she would find out, one way or another. With Talia the sprite's help, Bryn found herself within the cavern of the most powerful magus of the System. They spoke little, and did not even breathe a true name to her, but they were kind. "I offer you, beautiful traveler of Sornieth, this gift of magic to reach even the darkest depths of the sea. To find that which you had only dreamed of. A set of enchanted gills so the ocean can be yours." And they were beautiful, light, and wonderful. She could only chirp out a hurried thank you before the pull of her curiosity and the sea reached her. Hiraeth, an innocent dragonete, was waiting for her at the water's edge. He smiled. "Captain guessed you might come here, so i waited for you. Shall we enter the ocean mother's bosum?" It was then that Bryn noticed, the three masters of the ship, Hiraeth, Halcyon, and Pensacola, they seemed almost otherworldly in their speaking patterns and powers. She felt the same amounts of powerful magic emanating from Hiraeth that she felt from the captain, and his first mate. It was all very curious, but she pushed those thoughts outside as both dragons dove under the waves. The captain had been right. A coral reef that almost put the Tidelord's home to shame stretched across the waters the Paradise System called home. Beautiful pinks and gold... any color she could dream of lived in harmony across this reef. Rainbow trout and shimmering sardines danced before them and they all seemed familiar with Hiraeth. Creatures that would normally flee at the sight of dragons swam curiously over to the Pearlcatcher almost in greeting. She reached out to pet a Quetzeel and was delighted to see it wrap gently around her arm. The duo of drakes spent most of the afternoon swimming with the fishes until it became too cold to stay. It was a wonder how the reef was so healthy and when she asked Hiraeth he could only smile and shrug his shoulder blades. He did not know either, but considered himself blessed to have the opportunity to coexist peacefully with the reef system. And without a second thought Bryn found herself agreeing too. The time for her to stay had come and gone, it was almost alarming how much time had passed with the Paradise System. Bryn almost felt sad to break the news to them all, but her heart could never stay in one place for too long, it was in her nature and she had to follow it with all her heart. The three masters of the ship and Robert already knew this and by the time she found her footing and was ready to speak, the ship undocked and sailed off into the inky blue. Robert stood by Bryn's side with a grin. "Where to next, explorer? Allow us to personally escort you to your next destination. With a shine in her eyes, Bryn climbed up the ladder to the Crow's Nest one final time, eyeing nothing but adventure. "Full steam ahead! We're on the right course!" The gaoler spoke in a harsh sounding voice " little Pearl catcher what is your buisness here ?" Bryn explained that she was going to be staying here for a few days and instantly the gaoler (who later was to be found out as Hassaun ) apologized and spoke much kinder to Bryn " follow me and I'll take you to the leaders of our clan " she said turning away from the pearl catcher and walked through the entrance into a cleared area that was very big and surrounded by trees and makeshift walls of snow, ice and rocks on all sides. The gaoler kept going stumbling around abit every once in a while. There were dragons everywhere some training, practicing magic and walking around doing their normal things, as she passed some of the dragons starred at her and hassaun but didn't say anything. Eventually after walking for a few minutes they got to a cave and 2 pearl catchers walked up dismissing the gaoler and said greetings to Bryn, "Welcome" The male spoke kindly to bryn, "Welcome to the hidden lair, i am mochi and my wife mali, the rest of my family is currently out doing their chores and will be back later tonight for now tho Mali will get you some apparel while you stay" mochi looked at the female pearl catcher and she spoke ushering Bryn to follow her"come along dear" she took Bryn to another place in the area were there was apparel stacked up in nice piles and helped bryn get a green outfit to wear , and later at dinner she met all the others of the pearl catcher family one of which she enjoyed the company of the most , his name was ronoiki. Thick, dark mist swirled around her and felt heavy, like saturated clouds. She couldn't but barely see, grasping onto a mysterious letter. The parchment had appeared from nowhere, and the wording was so cryptic she had to investigate! The instructions were written in magical ink, shifting with every glance. She could've sworn she needed to go here, the Driftwood Drag, and that there was someone waiting? Who was waiting for her in the darkness of this fog? Bryn had been wondering for hours now, aimlessly stumbling through the fog. As she went to take another step, the ground crumbled and gave way below her, and with a startled screech she plummeted without time to open her wings. Cold, rough waters greeted her and she soon lost consciousness. [nextcol][item= Shadowbinder Onyx Idol][item=Gloomwillow Guide][/columns] Much like many dragons in Elpida, Bryn washed upon the gentle black sands of the main island. Hyunjin was the first one to spot her, and leaped from his spot on the S.S. Harmony to scramble to her side. He paged Raven to find the medic, Esther for the unconscious dragon as he lit a teal-flamed candle to ward off the Shroud. It wasn't long before the fae arrived with help, and together they lifted the pearlcatcher and carried her to the clan's emergency housing. Before that, though, Hyunjin caught the glimpse of a cream-colored orb sitting on the shore. He watched the rest of the dragons carrying Bryn to the warmth and safety of the housing before turning back to the orb and grabbing it, following close behind, carefully holding the pearl. With Esther's expertise, it wasn't long before Bryn woke from her sleep. Relief stricken faces all around her, she found herself in the company of dragons she didn't know. If it wasn't for the traumatic tumble she vaguely remembered, she'd be thrilled! "W.. Who are all of you? Where am I?" Bryn sit up and went to clutch her pearl close before a surge of panic followed. "Where's my pearl?!" She was greeted with a small fae, who waved all but a spiral out of the room. "I am Esther, you are in the Elpida Enclave and Hyunjin has your pearl." She gestured to the spiral behind her. She fluttered down to the edge of the bed, of furs and silks. "How are you feeling? We found you waterlogged on the shoreline, can you breathe well?" Hyunjin, the spiral, handed her the silk-wrapped pearl gently. "Esther, let the lassie rest. Yer questin's gonna give 'er a migraine." After taking a deep breath in to make sure her lungs weren't full of water, she held her pearl close. "Yeah, I'm doing.. fine?" She sat up in the warm bed and took in the surroundings. White walls with fresco murals enclosed a small room with an ashy door. The wood was similar, though seemingly lightly stained green and the ceiling a beautiful shade of purple. "I was following a note that led me here, and then the woods got too dense to fly in..." She clawed through her bag only to find a waterlogged empty sheet. "and then this... fog set in." "The Shroud." Esther commented, setting a delightful smelling cup of tea down. "This island is protected by the shroud, a fog that enchants those inside to be lost and confused. It's even been reported to warp unknowing dragons about in its dark mists." She patted Bryn's arm gently. "I've set aside some new clothes, they'll keep you warm and cozy here as it tends to have a bit of a chill to the wind. You'll want to see Ori or Rajani about that note, they are in one of the massive towers outside." At this point, the small fae fluttered up and shooed Hyunjin out. "If ya evr'n need of a vessel lass, see my crew at the edge of the docks. We'll get ya out safe." The spiral, although being shooed out the door, gave a slight wave and was smiling brightly. Even though he was quite gruff looking and seemingly missing an eye, he was still cheerful to an extent. Now alone, Bryn crumpled the note in frustration and got out of bed. The dry but thin gown she was in seemed very medical, and was glad to change out of it. The robes supplied were luxurious, and even the simple undercoat was soft and breathable on her fur. As she went to leave she noticed a purple hat, hanging on the stand. It was matching to the underset and glimmered slightly with what Bryn could only assume a magic enchantment. She held it in her claws for a moment before setting it on her head. To her surprise, the hat seemed to summon a tiny little fuzzy fae. It giggled and swirled around her, leaving a trail of glittery dust for a brief moment. The dust did eventually sparkle into air, but it was pretty while it lasted. If she hadn't walked into some sort of enchanted mist, fell into a lake or even the ocean, and wound up in a hospital of a clan she never heard of; she would question the little guy's existence. But! These were strange times and the fae from a hat seemed oddly normal. Bryn stepped outside of her room and took another long breath, exhaling into the air of the sleepy little town illuminated by teal-purple lanterns. Three giant spires in the middle of the island climbed into the dark mist surrounding them like a dome. The spires pierced the mists and for a moment Bryn found herself wondering how high they actually go. She shook her head. Esther said something about the towers and someone inside them that might know about the origins of her note... So that's her next stop. Her gaze drifted to the path and then to the tops of buildings between her and the towers. Her little companion giggled and fluttered around her, before drifting off through the semi-crowded streets. "Hey!" Bryn started to follow it, and the giggles when it was out of sight. She had never been more thankful for glittery trails of dust. As she weaved though the streets, following close behind, she found herself in the middle of a busy market. Strange faces all around, each with seemingly interesting stories. Even with a quick glance around, she was surprised at the abundance of shops and community buildings. In the center a large, particularly grown tree hosts a beautiful skydancer twirling in silks. Below her, a few dragons gathered together to play music and the happy giggles of hatchlings as they run amuck playing tag. Though the mystical symphony was the first thing that distracted her, it was the strong scent of food that was next. How long had she went without a good meal? She could feel her stomach rumble at the thought of food, and although hesitantly, she followed suit. She could do with a little distraction right? Yeah. Her nose brought her to a cafe, and inside she was greeted by a blue colored skydancer who showed her to a seat. Not long after, a coatl came by to take her order. She was dressed in soft pinks and had a sparkle to her eye, her fluffy dress dusting the floor. She set a menu down on the table for Bryn, and brightly smiled. "Hi, I'm Juanita and I'll be your server for today. We specialize in teas but feel free to order anything from the menu!" Bryn picked the menu up and glanced over it. "Oh wow, fancy." The menus were nicely decorated and just as Juanita said, the tea selection was expansive. "Would you like a moment to decide?" "Uhm, maybe the Elpida special?" "Oh~ That's popular with travelers. Say, I don't recognize you! Where are you from?" "Ah, a little place in the abiding boneyards." Bryn looked up to see the coatl tilt her head. "Then you're far from home! Today's special is Blackberry and jadevine, with a hint of lemon." "That sounds wonderful." "Great!" The waitress bowed slightly before turning and venturing into the somewhat crowed cafe. Bryn turned to look outside the window, the music from the center still able to be heard. Chimes and flutes make an airy, mystical tune that feels fitting. String instruments make up the melody, and she found herself closing her eyes. What a nice little hidden gem! With a small shake of her head, she turned back to the menu and started looking for something that sounded good for lunch. After a while, and a delicious meal at the Cafe, Bryn exited the establishment with curiosity in her eyes. The crowd has somewhat dwindled, the mid-day performance had ended a while ago. She calmly walked by stands set up, some closing for the day, and glanced about. Some of these were out-of-clan stalls, rented by merchants from all over. This peaked her curiosity! Maybe she could figure out if there's a potential in trade..? She shook her head. The note! She can't forget the note, it's the reason she's here in the first place! Her pace picked up as she speedily trotted towards the spires, exiting the market and wondered the less dense streets. A few streetlights spotted the road which turned to more dirt, as it was stones earlier. Three large walls curved around the towers at certain intervals, beautiful gardens on the inside and lined most of the roads. In the middle of the spires, a fountain bubbled and flowed gently tumbling down the carved rocks. Crystals glowed inside and along the path like lights, and casted colored light everywhere. She found herself in a pink-purple hue as she walked around, and giggled to herself. What fun lighting! "Excuse me, miss?" Bryn turned to see a young imperial in soft gowns, clutching a book close to him. "Are you lost? Most travelers don't go here. Oh! Unless you wanted to see the library?" Bryn shook her head. "I'm looking for someone... Uh, orb? Orn? Orie?" The imperial stifled a giggle. "Ori? He's our alchemy teacher and mentor in enchanting." He shuffled closer. "I can show you! I'm on my way to his class now." "You're... a student?" "Oh yes, I'm studying restoration magic primarily with enchantment secondly." He shuffled his books around. "If we don't hurry, we'll be late!" "Oh! Oh, then lead the way." Bryn stepped to the side, and followed the purple imperial into the towers. After a long day, she found herself in the company of the male pearlcatcher known as Ori. In front of them, the paper laid out and runes written in a circular fashion. After some persuasion, the letter decrpyted itself before their eyes. "At the edge of the Driftwood Drag is a small clan, waiting for you." Bryn pouted a bit. Really? After all this, it was just a note saying to find this clan? Well, adventure complete. Ori noticed the pout and chuckled, reaching to his side and handing the pearlcatcher a box. "I was told in a dream to wait for a curious dragon to arrive. I do believe the dream meant you." As she opened the box, a singular rose was in full bloom. Its petals almost seeming to shrink away from the light. As she touched it, she gasped as the thorns wrapped around her arm and settled delicately. The flower rested on her wrist and bloomed again to its full beauty. "What.. is it?" "A fae flower. I found it whilst lost in the woods, and it reached to me. After collecting it, I set it in a box. I'm surprised it hasn't shriveled up and died." Ori chuckled dryly. "It will shield you from the Shade, and if you so desire, give you a small aura of your own." He stood up and gently closed the box. "Be careful on your travels, Bryn. I'm sure you have plenty ahead of you." Bryn giggled. "That I do!" She looked down to the flower, which almost seemed to giggle at her. The woods really do play games with you, but she didn't mind the giggling flower. The next morning she was on the S.S. Harmony before many were up. She was greeted by many travellers, and as the lantern on the figurehead was lit by the teal-purple light, they opened sails and pulled from the dock. Waves splashed the boat and the S.S. Harmony cut through the shroud like a knife, splitting the mists for a moment only for it to close behind them. The Enclave was a wonderful stay, but it was time to move on, and as she looked down at the flower, she noticed a singular petal drift off with the wind. Bryn's first travel to the Icewarden.
Bryn ended up traveling to somewhere opposite of home; a cold place in the icy terrain, deep in the white covered forest.
Blue and Brown Flair Scarf Mage's Walnut Hat Sweetpuff

She wanted to get to know him better, so she asked around a little and got to know he's mostly just for himself.

After a long night, they ended up back at the mountain, where they both sat just admiring the view.

Painted Protobeast
For her stay, Byrn was assigned a small fae called Valentine to watch over her.

Buttercup Lace Collar
After a little bit, she had gotten to speak to most of the Sparks at least once.

Lupie specializes in making water-based magic sculptures, while Iris is good with divinations."

Divinations?

~

She woke up, surprisngly well rested.
"That way!!"
The following few days, she flew around The Beacon of the Radiant Eye, the Mirrorlight Promenade, the Sundial Terrace and even the Hewn City. Uncovered every corner of the Sunbeam Ruins. She was looking for exciting places in the morning, while having fun with the clan in the evening. She made some great friends along the way as well.

~

Soon, it was time to leave.

The coast of the Eastern Shoreline glimmered under the eternal sunlight, aquamarine waters catching flecks of luminance beneath their waves.

“I’m Aileron, by the way.”

“Bryn, but you already know me.” she took his claw and shook it rigorously. “So, what have you got planned for me?”

“First day’s not with me. Apparently, there’s a banquet going on in the palace and you’re invited. None of my concern, really. Fancy parties are not my thing.” Aileron rolled his eyes at the mention of the word ‘fancy’. “You’ll be with Lepidia.”

“Did someone call me?” Another Skydancer, this time a female, landed on the same platform. She bowed her head and tipped her top hat forward. “Good evening, darlings! You must be Bryn, am I right?”

“Yep!”

Lepidia’s smile was sweeter than wisp fruit. “Dear, you’re going to have a wonderful time with us! Come along, we need to get you a gown for the banquet, stat!”

Bryn flashed a nervous glance at Aileron, who simply smiled and waved. “See you tomorrow!” He grinned and jumped back through a golden portal.

"This is our kill."

But Bryn had no intention of intruding.

You bear the sight of the Plague Mother, so I doubt you'll remain sick for long."

Recovery was reasonably smooth - no surprise, for Bryn was a Plague dragon herself.

'Tis always sad to see brethren leave, but perhaps knowledge of this world is knowledge of value."

Bryn had no immediate response to this.

You would be doing Her an honorable service."

She handed Bryn a small vial of an unknown substance, warning her never to drink its contents. "No, keep this with you as a reminder of our Mother. A memoir of home. Wasp carries this same substance around her neck - a good luck charm, to her. Perhaps it will serve you the same purpose."

Bryn couldn't help but be a little creeped out by the ominous Imperial, but accepted her gift nonetheless. When the day came that Bryn had to depart, the Imperial watched her, never taking her eyes away even as she became a black speck upon the horizon of the setting sun.

Everyone is so excited to-"
Her sentence was cut off as a dark pink shape streaked towards the pair.
"It's so good to have you here, I was bursting with excitement waiting for you to come!"
"You're always bursting with excitement Am," Whisp remarked with a chuckle.
I'll show you to your quarters so you can get some shut-eye."
The nest Bryn slept in that night was quite comfortable, the bottom flattened and the cloth soft and worn from years of use and wash.
Queen's Colors

The silver dress was soft and seemed to be constantly ruffled by an intangible breeze, and Bryn fleetingly wondered why anyone would waste magic on a flowy dress.
Coli Armor

The chestpiece was snug but comfortable, despite being metal; the wing piece was segmented, allowing it to move and bend with her wings, and the boots were made of a material she could not place, one that felt like leather when worn, but metal when struck.

A Foray into Friendship!
This was not the first time Bryn has traveled to the Icewarden's lands, but she could say it was perhaps not her favorite region of Sornieth.

As a guest of the Paradise System, life was never dull for Bryn. if Robert did not wake her from her squishy bed, another member of the crew did.

We're on the right course!"

"Welcome" The male spoke kindly to bryn, "Welcome to the hidden lair, i am mochi and my wife mali, the rest of my family is currently out doing their chores and will be back later tonight for now tho Mali will get you some apparel while you stay" mochi looked at the female pearl catcher and she spoke ushering Bryn to follow her"come along dear" she took Bryn to another place in the area were there was apparel stacked up in nice piles and helped bryn get a green outfit to wear , and later at dinner she met all the others of the pearl catcher family one of which she enjoyed the company of the most , his name was ronoiki. Clan Mavenlark:
I found myself falling fast and quick for a janitor, of all dragons, at Clan Mavenlark - oh, I don't mean to sound snobbish about it or anything! I just find it interesting that in a clan full of famed artists, good, clean, and simple hard work is what wins me over. May our children feel the same. Regardless, I found our relationship fizzled out quickly after the fact, so perhaps it's back to the drawing board on my love philosophy...

The clan also creates beautiful decorations which they stung up near their dens. I was never allowed to see where they worked, which hardly slowed down even for the holidays, and any time the topic was brought up near me, Tabra shut it down quickly. It took a surprising amount of time to meet the clan leader Argyos, who though a tiny Fae, carried herself with the gravitas of a much larger dragon, I had heard whispers of an altercation with a rival arcane mage, but nothing was ever confirmed, not that much is here in clan [REDACTED].

Elpida Visitor
Confusion lapped at the edges of Bryn's mind as she ventured forth on her travelling journey. Shadowbinder Onyx Idol Gloomwillow Guide

Much like many dragons in Elpida, Bryn washed upon the gentle black sands of the main island.

"Where's my pearl?!"

She was greeted with a small fae, who waved all but a spiral out of the room. "I am Esther, you are in the Elpida Enclave and Hyunjin has your pearl." She gestured to the spiral behind her. She fluttered down to the edge of the bed, of furs and silks. "How are you feeling? We found you waterlogged on the shoreline, can you breathe well?"

Hyunjin, the spiral, handed her the silk-wrapped pearl gently. "Esther, let the lassie rest. Yer questin's gonna give 'er a migraine."

After taking a deep breath in to make sure her lungs weren't full of water, she held her pearl close. "and then this... fog set in."

"The Shroud." Esther commented, setting a delightful smelling cup of tea down.

We specialize in teas but feel free to order anything from the menu!"

Bryn picked the menu up and glanced over it. "Oh wow, fancy." The menus were nicely decorated and just as Juanita said, the tea selection was expansive.

"Would you like a moment to decide?"

"Uhm, maybe the Elpida special?"

"Oh~ That's popular with travelers. Say, I don't recognize you! Where are you from?"

"Ah, a little place in the abiding boneyards." Bryn looked up to see the coatl tilt her head.

"Then you're far from home! Today's special is Blackberry and jadevine, with a hint of lemon."

"That sounds wonderful."

"Great!" The waitress bowed slightly before turning and venturing into the somewhat crowed cafe.

"Excuse me, miss?"

Bryn turned to see a young imperial in soft gowns, clutching a book close to him. "Are you lost? Most travelers don't go here. Oh! Unless you wanted to see the library?"

Bryn shook her head. "I'm looking for someone... Uh, orb? Orn? Orie?"

The imperial stifled a giggle. "Ori? He's our alchemy teacher and mentor in enchanting." He shuffled closer. "I can show you! I'm on my way to his class now."

"You're... a student?"

"Oh yes, I'm studying restoration magic primarily with enchantment secondly." He shuffled his books around. "If we don't hurry, we'll be late!"

"Oh!

"At the edge of the Driftwood Drag is a small clan, waiting for you."

Bryn pouted a bit. Really? After all this, it was just a note saying to find this clan? Well, adventure complete.

Ori noticed the pout and chuckled, reaching to his side and handing the pearlcatcher a box. "I was told in a dream to wait for a curious dragon to arrive. I do believe the dream meant you."

As she opened the box, a singular rose was in full bloom. Its petals almost seeming to shrink away from the light. As she touched it, she gasped as the thorns wrapped around her arm and settled delicately. The flower rested on her wrist and bloomed again to its full beauty. "What.. is it?"

"A fae flower. I'm sure you have plenty ahead of you."

Bryn giggled.
