They are the very backbone of Valhall. They are the [i]Sœmi-ligr[/i]. Even those that aren't fully dedicated to the Sæmi-ligr often end up involved with them, be it through taking on secondary shifts with one of their sub-factions or volunteering on the weekends to help out with various tasks and assignments. Many dream of joining since their days as hatchlings, some come from far away to try their luck or learn from the many infamous dragons that have chosen to dedicate their lives to Valhall's cause. Teamwork and cooperation is one of the things Valhall as a whole value and the Warriors especially. Friendly competition does exist, however, and most tournaments are hosted by warriors to indulge their competitive sides in friendly and productive ways. Whilst most dragons spend some time affiliated with the warriors, especially as most dragons go through preliminary training to ensure they are fit for any potential crisis, only a handful remain fully involved and solely dedicated to the faction. Most of their members are also heavily involved with other factions, such as the Community Branch or the Magics, but these members are not listed in the official Warrior Books. The different sub-factions tend to have a shifting number of members, the bulk usually made up of temporary trainees wishing to serve the Icewarden, but each faction is led by a notable warrior of Captain rank or higher. Working hard to expand their range and knowledge, they cultivate a love for learning and personal growth, and they provide a safe home for all those wishing to study magic. Forged by Kvasir, and moulded from his personal struggles, they strive to include dragons from all walks of life, and their facilities grow more astounding by the day. As the most versatile faction, one can find the Makligr everywhere within Valhall. Taking on everything from the most trivial tasks to essential, or even life-changing, challenges, their work can be found all over the clan. It is within the Whispering Spire the Makligr live and work, and their tower stands proudly on the rickety edge of the Cliffs overlooking the frozen ocean. Though one may expect it to fall any moment, no winds or forces of nature have ever succeeded in knocking as much as a single roof-tile off it. Spanning dozens of floors that surely should not be able to fit within it's shimmery brick-walls, the inside of the Spire baffles the minds of many a dragon. Dozen of corridors and rooms, some leading to places that ought not exist in the first place, and outsiders are advised not to wander on their own lest they never be seen again. But how else would they possibly fit so much into a single building? A solid handful of libraries, a number of alchemy labs, dorms for all their members and every sub-faction, and so much [i]more[/i] hides within these walls. For not only does the Spire house the Makligr, but it houses their sub-factions, too. The Alchemists, the Seers, the Barrier team, the Ambassadors, and the Experimental branch. They also work closely alongside the Academics and the Bibliotheca. It's a crowded family, to some extent, but they're all somehow squashed into the Spire despite the limitations of the physical plane. ... or are they really? Though she prefers healing, she's intelligent and experienced enough to be able to work with all sorts of magic. Eventually, they fashioned a measly library there as the high ceiling and skinny, winding nooks and crannies were fine places for improvised bookshelves. Yet, without a librarian it fell into disrepair. No one truly kept up with it all, though many made some halfhearted attempts at ensuring the books they stored there remained in good condition. And then, one day, a newcomer arrived. [url=https://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=435605]Mimir[/url] immediately shut himself in, a satchel full of books at his side. Nobody quite knows how he did it, but day by day he turned the awkwardly shaped cavern into a cozy, clean library. Shelves were carved into the stone walls, wooden units built and placed strategically. Alcoves, pillows, tables- somehow, [url=https://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=435605]Mimir[/url] had created something incredible. Though it was empty, it was a beautiful sight and [url=https://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=435605]Mimir[/url] quickly proved himself a dedicated librarian. Their selection grew and grew, soon enough filling the high shelves and alcoves. It grew so big that getting lost soon became a very real trouble, a hundred winding tunnels and smaller offshoot rooms creating a maze that no one knew how far went. What would seem like the top could be the bottom and the tunnels appeared to shift and morph, many claiming that when they'd explored tunnels would disappear and appear. Candles float high and low, the shelves creaking and the walls groaning. Strangers may be unsettled, but worry not- the cave won't come down on itself, it is simply the mountain speaking. The shelves are sturdy and though it's impossible to see the top of them, there is an end to them. She had the cover of a blizzard to hide her and was used to navigating the harsh winds, but they all saw a perfectly aimed blast of magic take her down despite the tricky conditions. The two Ice Sculptures had arrived and when everyone else were beaten down and exhausted, Munin stepped up and finished what they couldn't. It cost her everything. But because of her, Valhall could continue on existing.
