Clan Lore
The Azurenight Clan is one of the venerable clans of The Cloudsong. The clan is known for its hospitality and kindness as well as their ferocity in a fight. Every member of the clan, even the healers and the librarians, know at least the basics of combat. The reason for this combat wise behavior is due to the directive the clan founders received from the Windsinger. They were tasked with the strenuous duty of raising fighters for the deity’s army and it is a duty they strive to achieve.

Though, not every day is a fight. The clan is usually laid back and fun loving. Most visitors to the lair will agree that they are easy to get along with and they know how to throw a party. In fact, they throw a grand gala for all of the exalts that they send off to the Windsinger. There have been many chosen heroes that made the Azurenight Clan their last stop just to have that one last grand farewell.

Equality is a major factor for them. Ranks are very loose within the clan as they do not believe in a caste system. Everyone has an equal say in regards to clan decisions and no one is considered worth any less then another. They extend this ideal to all visitors and allies and deplore having to deal with clans that hold to the notion of strict hierarchy.

Though, perhaps the clan is best known for its leader. Lady Wind Whisperer, or Azurefire, is gifted with the ability to not only hear the whispers on the wind, but the ability to send whispers to those who have been exalted. Drakes from all over Sornieth will stop by the clan just to hear from exalted loved ones one more time.

Though they often seek out additional counsel from their clan members it ultimately comes down to them to finalize decisions involving the well-being of the family and homeland. [center][size=7][color=#3d716a]Guardians[/color][/size][/center] The Guardians are broken down into five branches: The Wardens make up the military side of the branch, their duty is to protect the Clan’s lands during times of conflict. There are two forces in the military, the Wardens, who are the primary force protecting the region, and the Beast Wardens, who are a special unit trained to fight with and protect the beast clans that are a part of the region. The Enforcers are the police force for the clan. Their duty is to make sure that everything stays safe on the homestead. They confront crime head-on and fight to keep criminal activity as low as possible. The Fire Patrol are the diligent firefighters dedicated to keeping the citizens safe from arson, accidents, and their own foolishness. The Rangers are a branch of the Environmental Protection Force in the clan. They are the enforcers that keep poachers and polluters from destroying the natural land that the clan relies on to survive. And finally, there are the scouts who are the brave souls that do the reconnaissance for the rest of the guardians. Most of his guardians tease him relentlessly about his clumsy nature, but none of them would ask for another leader. He is trusted and respected throughout the ranks of the guardians. Guardians

The Scouts


Scout Master Blaze is the leader for the scouts. As one might imagine they are responsible for reconnaissance. More often than not they are getting themselves into tight situations in order to collect vital intelligence. They are a fun loving and playful team that rides the border of recklessness. Blaze always manages to bring them back from that brink thankfully. Especially with the size of the region and the routine occurrence of fires. Sure the citizenry will band together to put out fires, but the result is an unorganized rabble that usually does more damage then good. When she suggested the idea of a fire brigade to the Founders they all jumped on it before she could finish with her argument. It appeared they had no volunteers or anyone to step up and take charge. At present Lumina is organizing the new Fire Patrol in each of the cities. Once finished she will develop a plan to help the Beasts, should they need it, with any fire outbreaks.

The mages are separated into their specializations: Battle Mages, Illusionists, Conjurers, and Enchanters. The mages of Clan Azurenight are unusually strong with their elemental powers, even if they are not Wind Flight. This power is typical for Arcane dragons, but it is not something typical to Wind drakes. The scholars suggest this amplified magical ability is due to the closer contact with an elemental deity. Mages

Azurefire oversees the Mages in the clan and it is she who makes sure nothing gets out of hand and the explosions and mishaps stay at a controllable level. The mages are separated into their specializations: Battle Mages, Illusionists, Conjurers, and Enchanters. The mages of Clan Azurenight are unusually strong with their elemental powers, even if they are not Wind Flight. This power is typical for Arcane dragons, but it is not something typical to Wind drakes. The scholars suggest this amplified magical ability is due to the closer contact with an elemental deity. Charin is officially the Head Vault Keeper, but that doesn’t prevent him from sharing the duties equally with Coil. He’s a laid back kinda gent who you are likely to find taking cat naps on the piles of treasure between his duties. Unlike most bankers, Charin doesn’t so much mind if you want to withdraw your items from the Vault, which is a trait that puts him at odds with Coil. Don’t let his careless disposition fool you, Charin is a mathematician and honestly does take his duties at the Vault seriously; just not as seriously as Coil. He keeps meticulous records and nothing in the Vault will ever be out of place while he’s on duty. He and his team work closely with the Ambassadors to ensure a strong trade between them and their allies, which enables them to maintain that constant import and export of goods.
