He was hoping no one remembered the scene Willow had made and fortunately there were no familiars in the latest shipment. On the table were head coverings - a very diverse set of hat artifacts, including one Beastclan mask. Raine only took a moment and said, "Clearly you've stumbled on the remains of a museum - or a collector's house - dedicated to hats. The Runed Helm is actually the most interesting of the bunch - and potentially the most valuable. I recommend getting an expert to look at the Runes to translate the writing. Unfortunately, that's not my area of expertise as this comes from a Water realm and all we have is frozen water where I'm from."

When she was directed to the chest, she tipped her head, the spikes around her head bristling with interest. "Why, this is incredible! Just look at the craftsmanship on this masque!" She immediately picked it up, then plopped back on her haunches and wrapped her tail around her hind legs as she turned the mask around in her forehands. "You must think me a single-minded creature, to focus on harpy artifacts so, but by the Windsinger, this is the second item of pre-Unification harpy culture I've seen here! Just look at the delicacy with which this mask is made; the intricate carvings around the edges, and the iridescence of these feathers, even after all this time - there simply must be some kind of preservation ward on those. Just think how favourably this compares to modern harpy masques! And- oh!" The runed helm was seized next; she traced her clawtips over the engravings. "A simply stunning piece of Maren work - not pre-Unification, I'm sorry to say, but nonetheless leagues above most other work of this time period." She turned to look at Aeron. "I do believe you've stumbled upon a collection of exemplary headwear. Why someone would collect them, I couldn't say, aside from the simple historical - and, I suppose, monetary - value of having such a collection." She pointed at the fedora, still in the chest. "This is one of the Light Flight's lesser-known icons. The hide isn't a material I can identify, but looking at how fine the grain is, I must marvel at the leatherworking ability of the hatter. These hats were made popular by adventurer Lindiana Light." The crown was next. "These crowns were gifted by the deities themselves, so I scarcely need to tell you the value of them. This particular one is from the Icewarden; you can see his stamp here--" she flipped over the crown and ran a clawtip over the Ice rune engraved into the inner rim. "These were only given out during the last Ice festival. "And another festival piece here! This is from the last Earth festival; I do believe that the Earthshaker had his finest workers on these pieces." She looked at Aeron again, a hat in each hand. "You appear to have stumbled upon the belongings of a rather affluent hat collector. I wouldn't say these are archaeological, though; the crown and Earth festival items are relatively recent. Maybe you should return them to their owner, before they notice?"

Ships were now free to enter and leave the harbor unharassed, and the Maren won themselves ample supplies for their home school. Interestingly, while they were waiting for the supplies to be packed and brought to them, there was a heated conversation between the Longneck and the Maren negotiator despite the agreement. The two Beastclan members spoke too quickly and quietly for most of the attending dragons to follow, and it left the Longneck in a sour mood afterwards. But since both parties got what they wanted, no dragon pressed for details. Not far from the docks sits a stand dedicated to recent excavation efforts by one of the region’s numerous archaeology organizations. It has been hastily made, no doubt in the wake of this summer’s surprisingly high interest in artifacts. A number of chests, trunks, and boxes sit near the stand, some of them dubiously stacked. They are an odd couple, not often accompanying one another. Today seemed to be a fluke, but neither dragoness has complained yet. As the two pass along, close to the stand, Neva flicks a wing towards her Clanmate. "Foxglove, a moment." Neva moves to peer in the shadows beneath the tent. She smiles at the Tundra, recognizes Zap in the back, waves a little. "I'd like to apologize for yesterday," she says with a chuckle. She had heard about Vesuvius' failed sleuthing the day before, and was amused by the lazy dragon's attempt. It seemed he had fun, at least. "It appears I sent the wrong dragon to check in for me. No matter - what do you we have today?" Foxglove peers over Neva's shoulder, and the Coatl's eyes widen with excitement. "Juneflower!" the poisoner gasps. Neva tilts her head in a silent query, and Foxglove explains. "It is a favoured tea leaf used by the Longneck, although it is in fact a toxin for other species, including dragons. Popular to use the petals as accessories, but they are bitter to taste and affect the nervous system. The bulbs have proven to be safe for consumption, except for Spirals. We do not know the reasoning." "Hmm, that is interesting" Neva says in response. She shifts her weight forward, her feathers rippling, as her gaze skips from item to item. "The Longneck, you said? That is Longneck script, there, along the base of the Nickel figurine. I would need my notes from home to translate, though." Foxglove wiggles forward eagerly. She points with a purple claw at the blade. "And look, there! Poisonous blade, it seems." "And the currency to pay for such a blade. The blade is dipped in a juneflower toxin, I would assume, and has been traded away. It is clear that the interactions were kept between the BeastClans. Curious, indeed," Neva finishes with a twinkle in her eyes. She peers at her Clanmate, equal parts proud of and impressed by Foxglove. She is glad she had the fortune of traveling with the Coatl today!

"Foxglove, a moment."

Popular to use the petals as accessories, but they are bitter to taste and affect the nervous system. The bulbs have proven to be safe for consumption, except for Spirals. We do not know the reasoning."

"Hmm, that is interesting" Neva says in response. She shifts her weight forward, her feathers rippling, as her gaze skips from item to item. "The Longneck, you said? That is Longneck script, there, along the base of the Nickel figurine. I would need my notes from home to translate, though."

Foxglove wiggles forward eagerly. She points with a purple claw at the blade. "And look, there! Poisonous blade, it seems."

"And the currency to pay for such a blade.
