Welcome to the Archive, where all the information on our humble clan is stored. From the Founding to now, I will record all that anyone would need to know about us. Our leaders, the Clanmother, our territory... All will be recorded in time.
Please, feel free to look around and learn of how we run things. All are welcome in this place of knowledge. Just put things back where you find them, if you would. Organizing all this is quite a chore.
I hope you enjoy your time here. Do not hesitate to ask me anything you would like to know or need clarified. Advice and critique on my way of recording these things is very much appreciated.

HISTORY Migration of the Clan
The beginning of our humble clan started with, in the words of the Clanmother, "a great amount of hubris and a very stubborn young Fae".
Once known by the name of Leiana, our founder traveled across Sornieth frequently. Her stamina was not the best- like is with most of her species- but she had luck and willpower in spades. Unfortunately, luck must run out at some point. This happened to her as she was flying across the Crystalspine Reaches on a stormy day. Out of food, fresh water, and quickly losing strength, she crashed into a mostly uninhabited valley. She prayed to the Arcanist for a savior, and soon enough she was found by a young Tundra with bright red and white fur. The kind dragon took her in and took care of her until she healed.
Even after recovering, she stayed with him for months on end. She stubbornly ignored the call of travel; instead she stayed with the male she had grown to be close friends with.
This bond was what paved the road to Wisphaven's establishment. The two eventually began to travel together, and they were slowly joined by other wanderers looking for a place to call home. The ragtag group never fully settled, but they made a base within the Crystalspine- the first lair of our clan. The cave system they claimed eventually became too crowded as dragons came and left. What was once comforting closeness became almost claustrophobic; the bane of dragons that prided themselves on their freedom.
Soon enough, the Clanmother planned a journey to find a new place to call home. It took many months to store enough supplies and pack up all they could afford to take with them. Then, the original group began their search.
There were times of hardship as they traveled, like any other trip. Some passed away from harsh storms or low food stores. Among this number was Cain, the Tundra that saved Mother Maeve when they were both young, and Veline, a Pearlcatcher who was the first to join the clan when it was new. The Fae grieved for a long while, even though she powered through it to lead those under her protection. This was a dark time in our history.
Thankfully, a year after they first began their travels, they found a place to settle within the Starwood Strand. A new lair was built in a heavily wooded area, and it was extended into a nearby cave system (thankfully much more spacious than the last). The clan slowly built themselves up again: the hoard was brought to its former glory, the food stores were replenished many times what was needed, new hatchlings were born, and more dragons joined us in our new home. This was truly the first golden age of Wisphaven.
We still prosper today, though things have changed a great deal. Regardless, most here are happy with things the way they are, and we hope to live in peace for as long as we can.
OVERVIEW The Basics
Wisphaven, at its core, is a clan of wanderers. The Clanmother encourages those under her care to explore the world if they wish to, but she makes sure we know that we always have a home with her. Many journey across Sornieth if they're able, and those too old or young or disabled to do so stay at the clan's main home to maintain it. Regardless, each dragon here takes a pilgrimage at some point in their life; the destination is wherever they desire to go, as the only goal is to expand the individual's horizons and view of the world. This pilgrimage is considered tradition among the elders, and an adventure to look forward to in the eyes of younglings. All know, though, that it's meant to honor the journey the clan founders took to find a home.
The most popular place to travel to seems to be the territory of the Shadowbinder. The dark lands feel like a second home to many, as the main lair of Wisphaven currently lies within a darker section of the Starwood Strand. In fact, the Clanmother took inspiration for our name from the creatures and lands within the Shadow Domain (particularly Wispwillow Grove). Of course, not all feel this way (especially those born in Light), and find other places to go to that settle with them better. No one judges them; some tend to find the tricksters and shadows and tangled landscape of that territory... unsettling. It's understandable that the more Light-focused would be happier traveling elsewhere.
Preferences aside... This tradition of travel and exploration are what fuels the collective economy and hoard of our clan. As we travel, we tend to collect anything that may catch our eye. Baubles, gems, chests, particularly strange stones- anything we can carry that's not already owned, we take. That doesn't mean we completely empty a place of its treasure! It's a well-established rule that we are to leave something for the next to pass by. Some are annoyed with this, but they follow it anyway. Nothing bad is done to anyone who takes more than they should, oh no. The disappointment and scolding from Mother Maeve is just not fun to experience by any means.

THE MONARCHS Those Who Lead
The Lady Titania
Tasked with the more political affairs, our Lady is what keeps the clan at peace and running smoothly. She handles anything that can be solved with discussion and peace councils. [sub]The Way of Our Beliefs[/sub]
-----
-----
-----
To our clan, the meaning of exaltation depends on the circumstances surrounding the exalted. In some cases, as with Clanfounder Cain, becoming an exalted is to ascend to the ranks of Arcanist's scholars after death. It gives those left behind closure; something to believe in once the loved one has left the physical plane.
In other cases, like with my old clanmate Raiyana, the exalted goes to serve and learn under the Arcanist while still living. They dedicate the rest of their lives to study and research under the Arcane Deity. This is considered a great honor; not many are chosen to become an exalted. However, the wants and feelings of the dragon to ascend are always taken into account. If they do not wish to follow this path, they are not pressured to, and someone else is asked if they wish to take the previous candidate's place.
In any case, the exalted are greatly respected. We honor them and, honestly, worship them in the way some worship ancestors. Of course, those of Wisphaven who are religious in some way or another mainly worship the Arcanist. Some who previously belonged to another Flight may or may not worship their previous element's deity as well. It all depends on the indididual. In my opinion, our clan is lucky to have such freedom.

[sub]Shrines and Other Things[/sub]
-----
-----
-----
One of the larger caves in the clan's lair system is solely used as a place of remembrance and worship. Its name is the Starglow Sactuary. There are small shrines dedicated to the deities of all Sornieth's Flights, but the largest and most used belongs to the Arcanist. Despite this difference in size, all the shrines hold a likeness of the deity they honor and are well-kept. Though our patron deity's shrine and altar are a bit more extravagant than the others. Many offerings are made to him- though most are related to knowledge or the arcane in general. Some even leave bits of meteorite or moonstone they may have found in their travels!
Also within this cavern are small altars dedicated to the exalted. They usually hold items that belonged to the individual before they left to serve the Arcanist, along with other trinkets or baubles that those who were close to the exalted might leave as an offering.

EXALTING & WORSHIP The Way of Our Beliefs
PLACES OF WORSHIP Shrines and Other Things
