I have a lot of fandragons, but most of them are historical ships haha I really like to incorporate their real-life histories into their lore! Some of them, like Olympic, Titanic, and Britannic here, have lore which is heavily inspired by their real-life counterparts' stories: these three, for instance, have an interconnected story in which Titanic died as a hatchling in the Southern Icefield (a reference to the real Titanic sinking after colliding with an iceberg), then Britannic was killed later on by drowning after a fight (the real Britannic sank after hitting a mine during WW1), leaving only Olympic, who went on to become tough as nails but also very sad (the real Olympic was the only ship of her class to have a full career, and she kicked butt the whole time) [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/65381204][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/653813/65381204_350.png[/img][/url] [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/68224662][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/682247/68224662_350.png[/img][/url] [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/65601215][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/656013/65601215_350.png[/img][/url] Others, like Akagi, have less basis in real history. The real Akagi was a Japanese aircraft carrier from WW2, but she was originally meant to be an Amagi-class battlecruiser. An earthquake damaged the unfinished Amagi beyond repair, and Akagi, also unfinished, was then turned into an aircraft carrier instead. The fact that the dragon is trans is an accidental reference to that change, and the bit about a stillborn sister is completely intentional, but the rest of her lore is just made up. It's loosely inspired by Akagi's name, though; the name means "Red Castle," which lends itself well to an artist whose favorite color is red.
